Scaling new heights:
AOC further expands EMEA market share
Berlin, 20 April 2010 – AOC, a world-leading supplier of display
products, continues its expansion course despite the global
economic crisis. The company significantly increased its volume
share in EMEA (Europe/Middle East/Africa) also during the fourth
quarter of 2009, and thus secured 10th position amongst the top
brands of LCD manufacturers – a jump of an impressive four places
compared to the previous year.
Results of Q4 2009
The display specialist was again able to further strengthen its position in the
fourth quarter of 2009 and to maintain or partly boost its market share
considerably in 7 out of 10 regions. AOC recorded the largest increase in
growth in France, Russia and Turkey. In the highly competitive Germanspeaking
region AOC successfully sustained its position.
Development by Region
In Turkey, the market share was more than tripled, rising from an original
share of 2.1% to 7.6%. AOC thus climbed up seven notches to position
itself in 5th place.
By quadrupling the number of units sold in the fourth quarter of 2009, AOC
improved by six places in Russia, moving from position 16 to number 10.
In Central Europe, AOC equally increased its sales figures and, compared
to the results of the same quarter of the previous year, now ranks six
places higher up in 8th position.
France, too, was able to record substantial progress. Coming from next to
nothing, AOC managed to achieve an additional volume share of 1.2
percentage points and moved straight to position 15.
In the Nordics & Baltic region the company progressed by two places, from
16 to 14, and by one place, from 14 to 13, in the Mediterranean region.
AOC furthermore managed to sustain its respectable 13th position in the
most competitive region, the German-speaking market. The display
specialist equally maintained its ranking in the regions UK & Ireland
(position 7) and Middle East & Africa (position 9).
