Welcome to the 29th annual Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops! 

The Taste has become a landmark community event here in Buffalo and 

one of the most anticipated summer festivals in Western New York where 

families have a unique opportunity to explore more than 200 different food 

items from some of the regions finest restaurants, food trucks, awardwinning 

vintages from 7 New York State wineries, and is electrified by the 

best in local entertainment. It is only natural for us to frequent the same 

familiar restaurants over and over again, but why not use this opportunity 

to sample something new? "I'm sure you won't be disappointed". 

Planning for the largest two day food festival in the country begins shortly after the 

previous year’s festival is over. Our all-volunteer board of directors and their committees 

work tirelessly to bring you all the best that the Buffalo region has to offer. The 2012 Taste 

promises to be the best yet, from the opening of the festival with the Gordon Highlander 

Pipes and Drums as well as the addition of Buffalo’s premiere food trucks to the “Smokin' 

Hot Buffalo Firehouse Cook-Off” spotlighting the city’s firefighters on our culinary stage. 

I would like to extend a very special thank you to TOPS Markets, our many valuable

Department, Connie Nitkowski (without whom the Taste would not happen) and of course,

years after graduation I can see myself giving back to the community by 

visiting afterschool programs to teach children about nutrition and that
