Skegness<br />

Skegness is one of the most exciting seaside resorts on<br />

the East Coast with a beautiful sandy beach and colourful<br />

landscaped garden foreshore.<br />

The seafront is bursting with a variety of attractions such as<br />

fun fairs, amusements, seal sanctuary, crazy golf, gift shops,<br />

Mablethorpe is a charming resort, with a lovely long<br />

sandy beach ideal for families and senior citizens alike.<br />

Mablethorpe has a wealth of things for the visitor to do<br />

such as amusement arcades, crazy golf, children’s play<br />

centres and a good selection of shops.<br />

There is also an excellent selection of cafes and<br />

restaurants and the beautiful parks and gardens, in which<br />

Sutton on Sea is a traditional seaside village with its<br />

Stamford is one of Britain’s finest stone built market<br />

towns. Captured in time <strong>by</strong> its conservation status this<br />

once major wool town has retained its old world charm<br />

past and there are many steam engines and agricultural<br />

machines to see.<br />

Lincoln Castle<br />

Built in 1068 Lincoln Castle adds to the picturesque sights of<br />

Uphill Lincoln. The castle is steeped in history and also houses<br />

an interesting museum for visitors to explore.<br />

The walls of the castle offer a bird’s eye view of Lincoln and<br />

the surrounding Bailgate, with the best being from the top of<br />

the Observatory Tower, as on a clear day you can see Boston<br />

Stump in the distance.<br />

Belton House near Grantham<br />

Built in 1685-89 for the young Sir John Brownlow, Belton is<br />

a fine example of a restored National Trust country house.<br />

The grounds include a landscaped park, gardens, a lakeside<br />

walk and children’s adventure playground.<br />

Many events are held throughout the year such as horse<br />

trials, open air concerts and an Easter trail.<br />

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight exhibition is home to<br />

several historically important aircrafts including one of only<br />

Enjoy a fun filled family day out at Butlins Skegness.<br />

There are a variety of attractions and things to do<br />

whatever the weather.<br />

The Church Farm Museum Skegness is a free, rural life<br />

museum that takes you back in time to a traditional<br />

1900’s farm.<br />

Bob the traction engine and agricultural displays.<br />

A most entertaining day out for children and a trip down<br />

Alford Five Sailed Windmill<br />

The only one of three windmills left standing in Alford this<br />

five sailed mill dates back to 1837. It stands over 30ft tall<br />

and has six different floors.<br />

Although the mill finished working in 1955 it has been fully<br />

restored and can now be seen <strong>by</strong> visitors working on a<br />

regular basis. The traditionally milled flour is available to<br />

buy on site.<br />

Alford Manor House<br />

Alford Manor House is reputedly the largest thatched manor<br />

house in the country.<br />

Surrounded <strong>by</strong> beautiful gardens and close to <strong>Lincolnshire</strong><br />

coast this is a lovely place to visit.<br />

The house offers examples of rooms from 1611 through to<br />

Georgian and Victorian times. Built in a rare H shape and with<br />

walls made from reed and plaster surrounded <strong>by</strong> brick this<br />

Burghley House near Stamford<br />

Built between 1555 -1587 <strong>by</strong> William Cecil, Lord High<br />

Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I, Burghley is one the largest<br />

and grandest houses of the first Elizabethan Age.<br />

The grounds include landscaped gardens designed <strong>by</strong><br />

“Capability” Brown, a lakeside walk, Orangery Restaurant,<br />

Gift Shop & the exciting Garden of Surprises.<br />
