New QED speaker cable and plug kit
– wiring dilemma solved!
QED X-Tube, why it’s better:
At low frequencies both X-Tube TM and conventional stranded/solid core speaker cable convey
signals in a linear way. However, at higher frequencies, X-Tube TM retains a near-linear signal
transfer, whereas the conventional stranded/solid core cable fails to conduct higher
frequencies uniformly across the entire conductor area. The diagram below shows excess
current density at the periphery (designated in red) and rapidly deteriorating current density
(green through to white) towards the centre of the conductor.
The effect of this is to reduce the actual cross sectional area of the cable at 15kHz to less
than 75% of that at low frequencies. The result induces distortion and compromises the
performance of the cable.
X-Tube TM with Polycore technology exhibits much lower self-inductance and is therefore less
affected by this problem. The Polycore reduces loop inductance to levels only achievable by
using more costly and difficult to terminate cables.

Design and Development
Alphason has long been the market leader in the AV support and screen
accessory market. Our ability to respond quickly and effectively ensures
we always have market leading and competitive products and offers.
Focusing on intelligent product design and development in line with
TV panel innovation, we are constantly aware of new trends as they
emerge. With an in-house design and development team, we are
continuously designing and developing products to keep you ahead of
the competition.

Product Testing & Development
All Alphason furniture is submitted to the Furniture Industry Research
Association (FIRA) as part of the design process to ensure we only
produce quality pieces that will function effectively as well as safely.
A permanent team of 8 are based out in the far east in our Hong Kong
office to help liaise with suppliers and to ensure our high standards are
being maintained. We are also members of the Supplier Ethical Data
Exchange (SEDEX) and utilise partners that are fellow members who are
committed to the continuous improvement of their ethical performance.
Quality Control and Inspection
Armour Asia perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on our behalf for all Far
East shipments. Findings are documented, and corrective actions are followed
up with the supplier.
If there is glass in the product, one piece is broken in accordance with British
regulations (BS6206A) to prove glass safety standards have been met and this
also validates the vendors’ glass making process. Military standard Acceptable
Quality Levels (AQL) are adopted when performing inspections.
The quality control and inspection process continues when the stock arrives
at Alphason.
A selection of stock (minimum one pallet) is taken from each delivery for
inspection purposes. We record and regularly analyse our vendors performance
and provide constant feedback to ensure that we maintain our quality
standards. Our inspection team is both expert and tough on quality as this is a
major key to our reputation.
In-House Manufacturing & Finishing
Complementing our inhouse design team, we also have advanced on site
manufacturing capabilities at our head office in HIndley Green.
CNC machines, automatic edge-banding and sanding machines are used to
replicate and finish large run or bespoke designs. This machinery is there to
assist our skilled crasftsmen who have over 75 years industry experience
between them.
Production in real wood, veneered boards and MDF furniture can be treated and
finished in our fully enclosed spray room. Various finishes, including
satin and gloss, are possible as well as colour matching to your choice of veneer
or original.
All this adds to our strength and enables Alphason to be first to market with the
latest designs and innovations.

Opened in 2008, our modern warehousing facility has over 85,000 square feet
of storage space.
With this huge availability of stock, we can ship the same day and offer you
