ensure a buyer of one of these machines can get the full benefit of what they can do, Illinois Mink Wire offers a
free training session at the Gengel Farm on their care and use. Each year in October, a session will be held for all
users of Illinois Mink Wire machines, whether current or previous purchasers. Without the benefit of this
training, Illinois Mink Wire cannot warrant the quality of operation. Call for information.

Feed Silos
There are various sizes of silos, from
3,310-11,025 lbs, made of fiberglass. The
polyurethane insulation prevents the feed
from freezing in the winter and keeps it cool
during the summer. Silos can be equipped
with a heated cap.
The silo framework, the silo ring, the
detachable feet and the ladder are coated
with zinc. The largest model is adjustable in
height. The ladder is anti-skid coated and a
bannister can be placed either on the left or
the right side. The ladder is safe and user
friendly, a pleasure for the farmer and the
feed supplier.

Feed Kitchen Machines
Homogenizer
The NORCAR Homogenizer further grinds down the
once ground material and gives it a homogenous
structure. With its conical screw tube, it efficiently
uses the entire surface of the cutting disc. This
construction permits maximum efficiency with a
motor of no more than 50 HP. The knife housing is
very accessible for easy changing.
You will save in mink feed, some say as much as
10% less waste!
Feed Pumps
There are several sizes and models of pumps
available. These pumps will help feed transport
through the pipes to the necessary places. The
pressure and suction flanges of the pump are
reversible and can be set in the desired direction.
There is a good pump for every need!
Block Breaker
This breaker is developed to crush frozen
products and bones. The breaker is capable of
crushing 35.1 cu ft of frozen material at one
time. The breaker divides the material into
pieces of various sizes up to one pound
maximum.
Grinder
These machines are designed to grind fresh and
frozen products. There are different sizes of hole
plates to produce your desired consistency. The
hole plates are from 0.63-1.34 inches. The larger
holes increase consistency before entering the
mixer.

Grading Cart
By weighing the mink simultaneously with
grading you avoid stressing the mink prior to
pelting.
The weight funnel holds the mink allowing the
scale to be more accurate and easier to read.
Weighing a mink takes only 2-3 seconds when
done simultaneously with grading. The mink
of the right size continue to grading, mink that
are too small can be sent directly into the
killing box. Mink are held by a neckband
during grading and weighing, allowing the
operator to capture more mink.
The grading cart can be operated by one person
catching, weighting and grading. You can also
have more people catching and one person
doing the grading. The ideal would be up to
five people catching, allowing you to grade up
to 4000 mink a day.

Environmental Drum – The most efficient drumming system
This system effectively processes the entire drumming of the pelts in a closed system so there is no emission
of dust into the pelting area.
The skins are transferred automatically from the fleshing machine to the pinning table. The used sawdust is

Fix 2 Tail Pinning Machine
The FIX-2 pinning machine now fitted with the tail spreading
feature ensures a uniform and perfect pinning line.
The FIX-2 Tail pulls the sleeve to the bottom of the pelt, this
enables you to take it directly from the machine and place it in
the drying cabinet. This feature now saves at least half a fulltime
position.
