The Goldenview Water Reservoir, a project completed by R&M for the Anchorage Water &
Wastewater Utility.
“The University will be seeking
LEED certifi cation for this new facility,
and as such, R&M is using a number
of practical site design strategies to
help the facility achieve this goal,” Len
Story said.
R&M performs most of its professional
and technical services in rural
Alaska, and has gained an enormous
amount of reliable knowledge
and expertise there. “We are sensitive
to the unique design challenges
presented by work in rural Alaska,”
Andrea Story said.
Public Facilities agrees. He has worked
with R&M for many years on a number
of projects, including aviation design
work at Bethel and Tuluskak. “Their
customer service and response are topnotch,”
Amundsen said. “They deliver
what they say they will, when they say
they will. They’re as good as it gets.”
R&M has been an associate member
of Associated General Contractors of
Alaska since 1982 and values being
part of the AGC of Alaska network. “In
our business, we interact with contractors
on a daily basis, and having access
to contacts through AGC makes
developing these relationships easier,”
Andrea Story said. The fi rm also fi nds
great value in The Plans Room. “We
access this site frequently, and have
found it to be a valuable resource in
securing work.”
R&M has been recognized for its
work, including the design of the C
Street Extension from Dimond Boulevard
to O’Malley Road, which included
1.5 miles of new arterial roadway
through an undeveloped area of
Anchorage and a modern roundabout
freeway interchange. The project was
the fi rst new roadway in Anchorage
in 20 years, and was named the 2006
Highway Project of the Year by the
Alaska Public Works Association.
Recently, the Mears Middle School
Site Improvements project, designed
by R&M, was recognized at AGC’s
annual banquet in the Under $3
