• Kokatat Sponsors Kayak Academy’s Inaugural Greenl<strong>and</strong> Week: An international community <strong>of</strong><br />
paddlers gathered in Seattle, Wash. the last week <strong>of</strong> Oct. <strong>and</strong> first week <strong>of</strong> Nov. to celebrate the first<br />
annual Greenl<strong>and</strong> Week, hosted by the Kayak Academy. Kokatat supported this event that is inspired<br />
by the cultural heritage <strong>of</strong> kayaking. To learn more about the week’s event <strong>and</strong> the history <strong>of</strong> the event,<br />

• Kokatat Supports Solo Australia Circumnavigation: In 1983 Paul Caffyn made paddling history as<br />
the first sea kayaker to circumnavigate the 16,000 km circumference <strong>of</strong> the Australia continent. Since<br />
then, only one other expedition, by Freya H<strong>of</strong>fmeister in 2010, has repeated this accomplishment.<br />
Currently, Stuart Trueman is attempting to reach the same sea kayaker milestone, in 16 months, <strong>and</strong><br />
recently gained the support <strong>of</strong> a Kokatat sponsorship. To learn more about the details <strong>of</strong> his solo<br />

• Expedition Updates: We will <strong>now</strong> be sending short updates about completed expeditions that we<br />
originally promoted in press releases, prior to the expedition’s start date.<br />

• Kokatat is going solar! UPDATE: As the final stages <strong>of</strong> the solar panel systems <strong>are</strong> being completed<br />
we <strong>are</strong> still waiting to distribute a national consumer <strong>and</strong> trade press release. The local press release<br />
was already distributed to the local media contacts in <strong>order</strong> for them to take photos during the<br />
