colour image capture makes it possible to scan even
low contrast documents with confidence. The compromises
needed in converting colour originals to a
black and white image has become a thing of the
past. As a result job control flexibility is significantly
increased.
The ADMIS S 35 C brings the reliability and functionality
of its sibling, the ADMIS S 31 B/W scanner.
These include a choice of scanning resolutions of
200, 300 and 400 dpi, and a throughput speed of
up to 85 A4 documents/min. in duplex mode this
corresponds to 170 images. The class leading paper
feed and transport system handles documents even
larger than A3, up to 320 mm wide and 8,000 mm
long.

The Agfa Colour Scanning Software, ACS, enhances the superb hardware
platform. ACS offers a variety of intelligent, application oriented, colour
management functions. Modules such as “Colour Adapt” and “Colour
Erase” demonstrate the benefits of colour processing. In bi-tonal document
scanning the information and background are often displayed greyon-grey,
this can sometimes create problems with image processing.
This is not the case with colour scanning. Colour management can register and
differentiate even subtle colour changes and react to them. Hand-written annotations,
ink stamps etc. are captured, every time. The information and the background can be recognised
individually and therefore separated. Furthermore, alongside full colour capture, there is the option to display
and save images in black & white or grey scale. The “Colour Index” module utilises the benefits of
colour highlighting for simple and yet extensive, structured indexing functions.
A universal, flexible, duplex scanner, the ADMIS S 35 C represents another production-oriented, user-friendly
system, expanding the range of the ADMIS scanner family still further.
The flexible feeder system allows the operator to
choose between automated batch processing of up
to 500 sheets or manual sheet feeding. The integrated
ultrasonic double sheet sensor further supports
the reliable paper separation system. This
means that batch feeding of mixed document
types, from lightweight to heavy paper stocks,
becomes a reality.
The integration of the system is via video interface
with a standard video imaging board. Users can
choose between the comprehensive Agfa Colour
Scanning Software solution and an API utility allowing
integration to their own applications.
