charcoal, with extensive inscription in ink on the recto,<br />
another study in profile on the verso, 29.5 x 21 cm. (11<br />

*** The indistinctly signed inscription (?Benedetto<br />
Rosetta) states that this portrait of the baroque painter,<br />
Felice Torelli (1667-1748), by his pupil, Fierenzola<br />
Cremonese, is vouched to be a very good likeness by<br />
another one-time pupil and respected student, Giuseppe<br />
Zuandetti.<br />

a Sa i n T, pen and black ink, with occasional brown<br />
ink, monochrome grey wash, an inset area lower right<br />
with a slightly differing wash, mounted on gilt-band<br />
and brown ink-ruled support, this bearing early pencil<br />
signature of Diepenbeeck, also inscribed on verso, and<br />
with alternative attribution to Johann Melchior Füssli,<br />
19 x 15 cm. (7 ½ x 6 in); with a drawing of St Jerome<br />
in the Wilderness, also in the manner of Abraham van<br />
Diepenbeeck, pen and brown ink, with grey wash,<br />
heightened with white, 27.5 x 20.5 cm. (10 ¾ x 8 in);<br />
with another drawing by a different hand (3).<br />
