As DIG Chambal Range, I encountered a
similar kind of River Tragedy. Post disaster
management of the tragic drowning of
pilgrims at religious place called Ratan
Gargh Ki Mata Ka Mandir at River Sind in
District Datia was carried out by me and
my team of dedicated men. Dead bodies of
many pilgrims were salvaged from the
deep and turbulent River Sind which
brought the aggravating law and order
situation under control.
3) Law and Order Management
As SP, Khandwa I was sent for a special
duty at Dhar a district in
M.P.(communally hypersensitive) for
maintaining law and order during Basant
Panchami/Friday in 2006 at Bhoj Shala
where there was severe communal tension
over the issue of observing Namaj inside
the Bhoj Shala.I was entrusted with the
safety and security of Bhoj Shala premises
/ structure. Under strategic leadership,
planning and sustained evidence based
policing ,the police force managed to
maintain the sanctity of the disputed
archaeological site which had some
similarity with the Ram Janam Bhumi and
Babri Masjid of Ayodhya in U.P. in terms
of its origin. Hence, the disaster of worst
proportion was averted.
