What did you feel about sharing your SS with others ... and would you be prepared to
do this with all teachers in NI ... or was there a comfort
factor knowing that all were prepared to give whereas in NI there will be many who only
want to take?
· It was encouraging to see all participants contribute and I feel we learnt a lot from each
other
· I would have no problem in sharing my SS with ‘whoever’. We are all at different
stages and have different interests – perhaps my ideas will help some other teacher
who hates ICT to inspire a child with a talent, kids are the important ones here
· Didn’t mind sharing SS with others and would have no problem doing so with others in
NI – gave children a real sense of pride knowing that their work was being used in
such a way
· Happy to share
· I have found through NoF that there are plenty of good ideas. I don’t know that there
are many who don’t want to share
· I felt I needed to share my Slideshow and get feedback from other teachers. It was
good to see what could be done with the software. I wouldn’t mind sharing with other
teachers in Northern Ireland as I think it si a good way to develop professionally
· Happy enough to share. Hopefully they will be a stepping stone for better work.
Do you think it is a reasonable expectation that teachers share resources that they
have made without a reward for doing so?
· As long as their work is acknowledged, but a reward is always an added incentive.
· These SS were made by the children and they have been rewarded with the tablet etc
· Absolutely, I am always grateful for tips/resources that I get from other teachers. I
would gladly share in return or even without return
· No definitely not – believe that teachers as a professional body are already expected to
do too much for little/no reward. Teachers who wrote the AUs were paid financially, so
think we should be rewarded either financially or with material incentives – preferably
both!
· Rewards are nice but we need to share ideas as a profession for the good of the
children
· No I think we work hard enough with no perks, so anything above and beyond needs to
be rewarded
· It is nice to be appreciated. It doesn’t happen often in teaching
· Within a school I think it is reasonable but we all like to be recognised by being given a
reward. I think it is good for morale to be given a ‘pat on the back’
