Manners and customs<br />
The Dutch people are polite and courteous and prefer formal<br />
greetings on first meetings. The Dutch are a nation of cyclists<br />
and in Amsterdam 540,000 people have bicycles - not<br />
surprising when you consider how flat the land is.<br />
Amsterdam is famous for its restaurants - particularly those<br />
offering Indonesian cuisine. The rijstafel (rice table) is a large<br />
dish of rice surrounded by up to 20 smaller dishes of meat<br />
and chicken with a huge variety of sauces.<br />
