Creighton Preparatory School’s
mission is to form men of
faith, scholarship, leadership
and service in the Catholic
and Jesuit tradition.
With over 130 years of a tradition of excellence in academics,
activities and ministry, Prep has been preparing young
men not only for college but for full lives as intelligent and
compassionate human beings.
Attending Creighton Prep involves becoming a part of a special
brotherhood. It is a community of support and closeness. As our
alumni attest, Prep creates bonds that last a lifetime. It is also a
brotherhood of learning. Together, we explore the world around
us, its meaning and our purpose in it. We form this brotherhood
as believers committed to being leaders who care about others’
needs and, therefore, will become men who will make a
difference for good in our world.
Join us in exploring what Creighton Prep
has to offer students and learn how
we form “Men for Others.”
FAITH
We hope to present a comprehensive vision of what it means to
be a disciple of Jesus Christ in its spiritual, liturgical and moral
dimensions. We strive to integrate the study of theology with a
lived Christian Faith, challenging our students to become men
of character and faith who use their gifts for the good of the
world. Annual retreats and other Campus Ministry activities
throughout the school year involve students in liturgies, prayer
services and service events, offering opportunities for them to
strengthen bonds with God and their classmates. We help young
men discover who they are and how Prep is an instrument for
bringing them closer to the Lord.
Why did you choose Prep?
I wanted a great education. I knew I’d be able to get it
here because the teachers would push me and it would be
a great environment in which to learn.
When did it click for you that Prep was the right place?
It really clicked for me during freshman football.
Whenever we’d win, we would be like a whole brotherhood –
all together, chanting, screaming. It was a great time.
You knew you had friends.
Any personal encounters that made an impact?
Freshman Retreat was the best time, so far. The whole
class just grows together as a whole and as a community.
After that, the whole school is together.
has an opportunity to meet his unique learning needs. The
Creighton Prep course of study provides a balanced and
traditional curriculum of preparation for college studies. Every
student will be challenged, in an effort to advance him from
good to great, and from great to outstanding. Our graduates,
regardless of where they began, will find themselves prepared to
enter, compete and succeed in college. Our system has over 450
years of tradition, making us experts in forming young men.
Why did you choose Prep?
Good academics and really good sports programs. Prep
was closer to home and had more people that I knew.
When did you know Prep was right for you?
I knew I wanted to go to Prep after I shadowed in 8th
When did it click for you that Prep was the right place?
It really clicked for me that I belonged here during
brotherhood and good relationship with those guys.
We prepare our students to be leaders in the service of others. We
I chose Prep mostly because my dad, grandpa and uncles
all went to Prep. I knew it would be a great education and
have great athletics.
When did it click for you that Prep was the right place?
It took me a while. My sophomore year, I ran cross country
and I loved it. Everyone there was a family.
Any personal encounters that made an impact?
Fr. Tillman really helped us be closer to each other. He
would have meets and practices, and we’d meet with him
Our goal is to help students realize that their talents and gifts
are to be developed not for themselves but for the good of the
local and global community. Prep students can be found in over
35 service sites across the city of Omaha during any given week,
tutoring students, visiting assisted living homes and working in
after school programs. They also work in recreational programs
for people with disabilities and feed the homeless. Yet, their
efforts are not limited to Omaha. Prep students also provide
food beyond the city limits to the Winnebago and Omaha
reservations, construct homes with Habitat for Humanity and
engage in service efforts in the Dominican Republic, Central
Mexico and the Rosebud Reservation. The Jesuit tradition
The single gender format can change a boy’s attitude toward
school, taking reluctance to excitement and passiveness to
achievement. The all-boys format offers the opportunity to
construct a culture in which a young man feels support and
encouragement from male peers in discovering his unique
talents and expressing them fully in the classroom, in
co-curricular activities or on the athletic field.
In a single gender environment we are able to maintain your
son’s focus and allow him to grow into the young man he wants
to be, without additional gender influence or pressure. Instead of
worrying about what the co-ed environment would think of his
developing talents and their expression, he can concentrate on
attaining his highest achievement in those endeavors.
We also offer many opportunities for our students to meet
and socialize with young women from other schools during
dances and other social events. They are capable of handling
themselves with maturity because of their experiences
and development.
At Creighton Prep, we strive to minimize distractions and
operate an environment that yields the best results out of
our young men. Your son can be himself, with teachers that
know how to motivate him in his formation as a man of faith,
scholarship, leadership and service.
Prep has a dress code, not a uniform, where we expect
our students to be “neat and clean” in basically
“business casual attire.”
While it offers students some freedom, the dress code also
serves to remind us that we are serious about what we do.
The discipline learned through ordinary, everyday habits
can help us live extraordinary lives in service of the greater
Our curriculum areas also contain technology for use by
teachers and students. The science classrooms are set up with
iMacs to aid in experiments, the World Language Department
has a lab with 25 computers for listening and translation
activities, and several classrooms have six student computers
available for classroom activities.
