At a ceremony in Building P1 on June 6, <strong>2010</strong>, at Quonset<br />
Air National Guard Base, North Kingstown, R. I., the 143d<br />
Airlift Wing was awarded the Outstanding Unit Award, fi rst<br />
oak leaf cluster, for outstanding performance from Nov. 1<br />
2007 - Oct. 31, 2009.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Air Force Outstanding Unit Award is awarded to units<br />
which have outstanding achievement that clearly sets the unit<br />
above national or international signifi cance, combat operations<br />
against an armed enemy of the United <strong>State</strong>s, or military operations<br />
involving confl ict with or exposure to hostile actions by an<br />
opposing foreign force.<br />
During the ceremony, Brig. Gen. Paul Ayers, Assistant<br />
Adjutant General, Air, RING, thanked the members of the 143d<br />
Airlift Wing for their outstanding service to state and nation.<br />
Col. Lawrence Gallogly, commander of the 143d Airlift Wing,<br />
also thanked the men and women in attendance and all of the<br />
Airmen of the 143d Airlift Wing for always stepping up and doing<br />
an outstanding job whenever they are called upon.<br />
Ayers presented a plaque to Gallogly and pinned the medal<br />
on the lowest ranking Airman in the 143d Airlift Wing, Airman<br />
Basic Courtney Kreshak of the 143d<br />
Public Affairs Offi ce. It is tradition<br />
