Mission statement Welcome to the Greater KINGSTON CHAMBER of COMMERCE serving Kingston, Port Gamble, Hansville, Indianola and Suquamish P. O. Box 78 Kingston, WA 98346 360.297.3813 www.kingstonchamber.com Our mission as a Chamber is to encourage and promote the interests of the business community by defining, developing and implementing programs and services which enhance economic activity and the quality of life for the greater Kingston community. The direction of the Chamber is derived from the mission statement, the strength from its membership, and the progress from its committees. Support your community. Invest in your Chamber of Commerce. Purpose of the Chamber The Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce is an association of the business people who act to improve our community. The Chamber is an independent, nonprofit corporation run by its members through an elected board of directors. The Chamber draws strength from attracting participating businesses into membership. The Chamber organizes and directs the energy, talent and money contributed by the members into projects which improve the business climate in our community. The Chamber also makes contributions to our community for the benefit of all citizens. It is the profitable operation of business that provides jobs and produces the wealth to finance government, education, cultural and charitable programs which address the needs of our community. What Does the Chamber Do? The Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce supports the business activities of its members through promotion, advertising, networking and participation in community events such as the Kingston 4th of July celebration. The Chamber provides tourism and relocation information to people visiting or moving to our area. The Chamber works with other local Chambers of Commerce, the Kitsap Peninsula Visitor and Convention Bureau, and other groups and agencies to accomplish its mission. The Chamber provides its members a voice in community and governmental activities. Our Mission Member Benefits The Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce: 1. Promotes the area as a good place to do business, make a home or to visit. 2. Informs, attracts and supports the business needs of the community. 3. Networks with the area and state Economic Development Councils to encourage appropriate businesses to locate in our area. 4. Produces a monthly newsletter by and for Chamber members. 5. Produces visitor information provided locally and in other sources of tourism. 6. Assists in marketing and promotion of Kingston businesses and events. 7. Offers its members insurance (health, dental, vision, life, disability and long-term care) through Carney Cargill Inc. 8. Meets monthly through luncheons and “After Hours Networking” events. 9. Maintains a Web site with a directory of all members and detailed information about events and activities in Kingston. Businesses can “Spotlight” their information and events. There are links to other sites of interest to members, the community and visitors. 10. Provides a weekly e-mail broadcast to members which is available to highlight community and member business events. 11. Is a hub for community groups which promote and advance the quality of life in Kingston including: •Kingston Revitalization Association •Kingston Stakeholders •Downtown Kingston Association 12.
