ARTS & CRAFTS FOR YOUTH & ADULTS MANDALAS: A BEGINNER’S EXPLORATION Mar 5-Mar 26 4 sessions Mondays Program #12SG01 Mandala, a Sanskrit word that means “circle,” is a pattern that is used in many traditions - Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Native Americans, Aztecs, Tibetan monks and many more - and is found in abundance throughout nature. Join us as we explore its ancient pattern and many uses as a vehicle to explore art, science, religion and life itself. A $10 material fee is due to instructor at first class. Age: 16-adult. Center Street, Westminster WIRE CROCHET NECKLACE March 8 1 session Thursday Program #12SG02 Crochet a lacy three-strand wire necklace and add beads of your choice. Student should bring an “I” or “J” hook to class. A $15 material fee is due to instructor at first class. Age: 16-adult. No early bird or senior discount. This is a very basic class and a lot of fun. Good for seniors and people with physical ailments, back problems, carpel tunnel, arthritis, or anything that may have made you think you couldn’t do this! All materials included. Age: adult. If you have some experience on the wheel from one of our previous classes or on your own, this program is just right for you! Develop stronger pottery wheel skills to include trimming and glazing. If you have all of your own supplies and just want to refresh your crocheting skills, you are welcome to join as well. Age: 8-adult. No early bird discount. Center Street, Westminster CRYSTAL CUFF BRACELET May 10 1 session Thursday Program #12SG19 This project places bead units on two rings of memory wire to create a cuff bracelet. Center Street, Westminster B O A T I N G MARYLAND BASIC BOATING SAFETY April OR May 2 sessions Friday AND Sunday Program #12SG20 4/13 AND 4/15 Program #12SG21 5/18 AND 5/20 An eight-hour course that meets the state requirements for boating and personal watercraft safety. In order to operate a motor boat or personal watercraft, persons born after July 1, 1972 are required by Maryland law to successfully complete this certification course. Class includes a review of chart reading, course plotting, marlinspike (knot tying). Age: all (under 13 must be accompanied by a paying adult). No early bird or senior discount.
