ISO 14001

The CE marking (an acronym for the French “Conformite Europeenne”) certifies that a
product has met EU health, safety, and environmental requirements, which ensure
consumer safety. Manufacturers in the European Union (EU) and abroad must meet CE
marking requirements where applicable in order to market their products in Europe.
CSFM
California State Fire Marshal. The state of California is regarded as having the most
stringent fire codes of all the United States. Having the responsibility of preventing fire, the
Californian Fire Service requires that all containers which are used in public areas to collect
combustible materials (cigarettes) must pass an anti-fire test.
BPA-FREE
This logo indicates that the product is made with Tritan copolyester which does not
contain Bisphenol A (BPA).
FDA
Food and Drug Administration does not approve products. The FDA sets regulations which
require compliance.
FM
Factory Mutual is an independent testing agency whose approvals are based on Standard
6921 Combustible Waste Containers. Standard 6921 contains performance criteria for
containers with covers (lids) and their ability to withstand internal fires, maintain a certain
range of stability, if dumped, and stay intact over a wide temperature range. Standard
6920 contains performance criteria for Oily Waste Containers.
FOOD CONTACT
This logo guarantees compliance with the European Community regulation EC
n¡1935/2004 and EU Regulation 10/2011 that define standards for items that will be in
contact with food. These standards relate to the production, materials and structure of the
item, according to its use. Rubbermaid works closely with officially recognised European
laboratories to comply with the highest standards in terms of “Food Contact”.
GREEN SEAL
This product meets the Green Sealenvironmental standard for institutional hand cleaners
based on its reduced human and aquatic toxicity and reduced smog production potential.

January 2006 the European Community Directives EC No 852/2004 and EC No 853/2004
have been prescribing the implementation of HACCP mandatory guidelines in the
European Union territory.
ISTA
International Safe Transit Association. The Compacted Mops were tested and certified via
ISTA Test Procedures.
LNE
The Laboratoire National d’Essais is an independent testing laboratory based in France. It
lists products which meet their criteria for safety.
NSF
National Sanitation Foundation is an independent testing lab/organisation in Ann Arbor,
Michigan. NSF lists products which meet their criteria for cleanability and sanitation:
food contact, splash zone and non-food contact, as per Standard 2: Food Equipment
and Standard 18: Manual Beverage Dispensers. Also, Standard 21: Thermoplastic Refuse

RUSSIAN
Since 1993 the Russian government has implemented the Russian Standard certification
for most products entering the Russian territory. The aim is to guarantee people’s health
and security.
TÜV
The TÜV certification officially certifies the compliance of the Rubbermaid Commercial
Products with the European requirements.
UL
Underwriters Laboratory. The UL classified baskets meet the criteria for UL Standard 242
which is a stan-dard of performance for open top, non-metallic wastepaper containers. UL
classified baskets are generally found in patient care rooms (hospitals/nursing homes).
USDA
United StatesDepartment ofAgriculture Equipment Listing (Meat and Poultry and 3A
