Life on Totemania The island of Totemania has a day and night cycle. At 8:00 in the morning, a new day begins. During the day, Totemaniacs can gather wood from the many trees on the island, or harvest food from the tribes’ herd of sheep. At 20:00, night begins to fall. All Totemaniacs will stop their daily activities, and prepare for the night. During the night, the magical tree in the center of the island can be harvested. But the night can also be used to attack the enemy tribes, and possibly even steal their resources. The village Every tribe has their own village. Every village can support at most 20 units. A village consists of a number of houses, and a large headquarter. At the headquarter, the tribes’ resources are stored, and new units will spawn here. At the center of the tribe stands the totem. A complete totem consists of five parts, which have to be built one by one. If you have gathered enough resources to complete the next stage of your totem, press the “build totem” button in the top left of the screen. Resources There are three types of resources that can be gathered: Food: Food can be gathered from the herd of sheep that stand close to your tribe. Every hour, units will consume 1 food. This means that 20 units will consume 20 food per hour. If there is no food available, your units’ 8
morale will be lowered, making them weaker in combat. Food is also used to respawn units. Wood: Wood can be gathered from the trees on the island. Units can gather 10 wood from each tree. Every stage of the totem costs 200 wood to complete. Magic Wood: Magic Wood can only be gathered from the magical tree that stands in the middle of the island. This tree can only be harvested at night, making it a difficult resource to gather. The magical tree can provide an infinite amount of Magic Wood. Every stage of the totem costs 200 Magic Wood to complete. Magic Wood is also used to respawn units. 9
