applicable industry standards.<br />

6.7.2 BellSouth shall offer the following interface transmission rates for Dedicated<br />

Transport:<br />

6.7.2.1 DS0 Equivalent;<br />

6.7.2.2 DS1;<br />

6.7.2.3 DS3;<br />

6.7.2.4 STS-1; and<br />

6.7.2.5 SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) <strong>Stand</strong>ard interface rates are in accordance<br />

with International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Recommendation G.707 and<br />

Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy (PDH) rates per ITU Recommendation G.704.<br />

6.7.3 BellSouth shall design Dedicated Transport according to its network<br />

infrastructure. ITC^<strong>DeltaCom</strong> shall specify the termination points for Dedicated<br />

Transport.<br />

6.7.4 At a minimum, Dedicated Transport shall meet each of the requirements set forth<br />

in the applicable industry technical references and BellSouth Technical References;<br />

6.7.4.1 Telcordia TR-TSY-000191 Alarm Indication Signals Requirements and<br />

Objectives, Issue 1, May 1986.<br />

6.7.4.2 BellSouth’s TR 73501 LightGate®Service Interface and Performance<br />

6.8 Unbundled Channelization (Multiplexing)<br />

6.8.1 To the extent ITC^<strong>DeltaCom</strong> is purchasing DS1 or DS3 or STS-1 Dedicated<br />

Transport pursuant to this Agreement, Unbundled Channelization (UC) provides<br />

the optional multiplexing capability that will allow a DS1 (1.544 Mbps) or DS3<br />

(44.736 Mbps) or STS-1 (51.84 Mbps) Network Elements to be multiplexed or<br />

channelized at a BellSouth central office. Channelization can be accomplished<br />

through the use of a multiplexer or a digital cross-connect system at the discretion<br />

of BellSouth. Once UC has been installed, ITC^<strong>DeltaCom</strong> may request channel<br />

activation on a channelized facility and BellSouth shall connect the requested<br />

facilities via COCIs. The COCI must be compatible with the lower capacity<br />
