The simplest cable slitter tool for quick jacket entry - ring cuts & longitudinal cuts.<br />

<strong>Draka</strong>’s <strong>Cable</strong> <strong>Slitter</strong> <strong>Tool</strong> provides quick and easy jacket slitting every time. Designed to perform both ring<br />

(circular) cuts and longitudinal cuts, this unique tool makes easy work removing jackets and armor from round<br />

fiber cables 1/4” to 1” in diameter (6 to 25mm). After inserting the cable in the handheld tool and making a ring<br />

cut, simply flip the lever 90° to longitudinally slit the jacket down to the appropriate opeining length. Once<br />

you try it, both veterans and new installers will use it for a lifetime. The tool’s strong fiber-reinforced body fits<br />

comfortably in the palm of your hand, and special hardened blades can be replaced for a lifteime of simple,<br />

Directions for Use<br />

1. Position the blade for ring cut or longitudinal cut.<br />

2. Open the blade to allow the cable to be inserted into the tool.<br />

3. Insert the cable into the trough between the blade and the top of the tool.<br />

4. Ratchet down the blade until the blade enters the cable jacket.<br />

5. Ring cut the cable by spinning the tool around the cable.<br />

6. Continue to rachet down the blade while spinning the tool around the cable.<br />

7. Turn the Blade Lever 90° to make a longitudinal cut.<br />

8. Once the cuts are complete, press the Stop Pawl and move the Ratchet downward to free the cable from the tool.<br />

9. Flex the cable at the ring cut to completely break through the jacket sheath and the armor.<br />

Adjusting the Blade<br />

1. The blade depth may be lengthened or shortened to accommodate different cable and jacket designs using the Blade Adjustment Screw.<br />

2. To increase the blade depth, turn the Blade Adjustment Screw clockwise. Always test the blade depth on a short section of cable.<br />

3. To decrease the blade depth, turn the Blade Adjustment Screw counter-clockwise.<br />

Replacing the Blade<br />

1. The <strong>Cable</strong> Jacket <strong>Tool</strong> comes with a precision ground hardened blade. After repeated use, the blade may be replaced.<br />

2. Unscrew (counter-clockwise) and remove the Blade Lever.<br />

3. Lift off the Blade Holder.<br />

4. Remove the old Blade and replace with a new replacement Blade.<br />

5. Replace the Blade Holder and Blade Lever.<br />
