committee can ensure the longterm
viability and success of
our Club. The true success in a
private Club, and the ultimate
testimony to its stature in a community, is defined by a full
complement of members and a “waiting list” for membership.
This then is the mission of the SWCC Membership
Committee: to reach and maintain a full membership.
It is my pleasure to introduce the members of
the 2006 Membership Committee. These members look
forward to meeting each and every member of SWCC to
answer any questions you might have on referring and
sponsoring your friends, family or business associates into
your Club. The Committee will plan membership events,
participate in association tournaments and “adopt” new
members in order to ensure that all members of Sweetwater
are reminded of and understand the referral process and its

Several members of the Sweetwater
Women’s Association lunched at
Fernando’s restaurant in February and
enjoyed the fellowship. March’s luncheon is
scheduled for Tuesday, March 7th and will
be held at the Country Club. The theme
is “Forgotten Treasures.” Each member is
asked to bring a wrapped home decorative
gift to be “exchanged” with each other. On
April 7th, SWA members are making their
annual trek to Round Top for a day filled

March means the holidays have truly past but summer is not quite here. So you’re probably
getting some of that free time you’ve been begging for. Why not fill the void with a little
fun and adventure in the new year? We’re starting an exciting program here at Sweetwater
Country Club and there is truly something for everyone. It’s called “Clubs Within the
Club”. There are 22 clubs to choose from... so why not join several? The clubs are listed
below, so pick your favorites and just e-mail me, Leslee Turnbull, lturnbull@sweetwatercc.
com. We’re also looking for a few good men... and women to help chair the clubs. I will be
doing all the dirty work like phone calling and e-mails, we just want you to help come up

It often happens in doubles where the server
does nothing more than put their serve in
play with no regard for location.
Just like pitching in baseball as a server you
want to keep varying your serve so as to
make it less predictable for your opponents
to return.
In addition to varying the location, one can
also vary the pace of the serve to create even
more disruption to the receiver.
