What was your motivation to become a PGA Professional?
I enjoyed golf and understood it was a business, not just a hobby.
What better than to have a career that you enjoy?
What is your specialty in the golf business?
My passion is for tournament operations. I enjoy putting on a good
show for the customers so they enjoy their time at our facility.

Junior Golf Leader, Section Award 2001; served as Assistants’
President, Membership and Junior Golf Committee Chairperson and a
member of the Tournament Committee. I have also had numerous
Nebraska PGA Pro-Am Low Pro victories.
What was your greatest moment in golf?
Two I really value is passing my PAT on the first attempt in adverse
weather and winning the two person Section Team Championship with
partner Dennis Fruchtl in 2005.

What or who has had the greatest impact on your career?
My home pro Jack Hoskins when I was growing up; Dave Malone at
CCL gave me my first job as a Pro, and most importantly Bruce Lubach
who got me involved with the PGA and served as a role model for my
development.
Besides golf, what else do you enjoy?
I am an avid billiard player. When golf season ends, pool season
begins and vice versa.
If you could play any golf course in the world, which one would
it be and who would complete your foursome?
I’ve always enjoyed going back to my home town course of Riverside
Golf Course in Grand Island, Nebraska and playing with mom, dad and
brother. But more famously I’d enjoy playing Augusta National with
Tiger, Peter Jacobson, and Fuzzy. Imagine the conversation!
If you could give lessons to anyone in the world who would it
be and what advice would you give?
I enjoy giving lessons to the absolute beginner. You have the freshest
canvas to begin with and they appreciate what you can do for them
more than the accomplished player. Fundamentals!!
What is your favorite golf instruction tip?
I love giving slicers the “flip” drill. I have them stand with their feet
together and “flip” their hands over to hit the ball to the left of their
body. It gets them to over exaggerate the feeling of squaring the
clubface at impact rather than leaving it open.
