CHASSIS
+
MONOSHOCK
+
SWINGARM
AN UNRIVALLED CHASSIS FOR TACKLING ANY ROAD WITH AN
INSTINCTIVE, SPORTING RIDING STYLE.
Chassis architecture has always been one of aprilia’s greatest
strengths, and Shiver keeps up the tradition. Its modular frame, with
an upper section in tubular steel linked to large lateral aluminium
plates is an exercise in stiffness and lightness. A sculpture borne of
aprilia’s experience on the race track allowing the rider to make full
use of the power of the engine, with an intuitive, agile and precise
riding style.
LATERAL MONOSHOCK
The monoshock is mounted laterally not just for
appearance, but because this solution frees up
space for the centrally located exhaust manifold,
allowing for perfectly symmetrical weight
distribution. The lateral shock absorber, pivoted
directly on the swingarm, features adjustable
spring preload and hydraulic rebound.
ALUMINIUM SWINGARM
Every component of the chassis exudes
authentic sporting passion. The dimensions and
configuration of the aluminium swingarm are
specifically defined for maximum stiffness even
when the bike is ridden hard.
UPSIDE-DOWN FORK
The upside-down fork with 43 mm diameter
stanchions and a wheel travel of 120 mm, lets
the rider tackle any road with precision, comfort
and safety. The steering yokes are in forged
aluminium for maximum lightness and strength in
true motorsports style.
