The Market has accomplished those goals and more … it has become an educational, recreational and social ga<strong>the</strong>ring for those in <strong>the</strong> local and surrounding communities. Do you want to learn how to make salsa? Sign up for Cornell Cooperative Extension’s workshop on <strong>Aug</strong>ust 8 (call 331-8415 … MUST pre-register) and make your own salsa to take home and enjoy! On <strong>Aug</strong>ust 29 <strong>the</strong>re will be a similar workshop on making corn relish. Our “Special Events” canopy on <strong>the</strong> back row has become a popular place to congregate! Kids have made planter boxers to take home. This workshop was led by Roy McCarthy, and he will be offering ano<strong>the</strong>r wood-working workshop on <strong>Aug</strong>ust 15. Again, kids MUST sign up (sheet at <strong>the</strong> market registration table or call 315-879-7420) so that we have enough supplies for all. On <strong>Aug</strong>ust 29 th kids can make bluebird houses. This workshop is being led by Seneca Meadows/Montezuma Audubon Center, and again, kids MUST sign up ahead of time. Join Dick to take a walk down memory lane … Knapp’s Pharmacy with <strong>the</strong>ir delicious cherry cokes, <strong>the</strong> movie <strong>the</strong>ater, Gardner’s Clothing Store … a nostalgic time to enjoy on a short walk. Need to improve your lifestyle with a little low impact exercise? Over 50 market visitors participated in Creating Healthy Places Bike and Hike on July 18, and continuing in this vein we will sponsor a walk monthly. Meet at <strong>the</strong> Market at 4 p.m. on <strong>Sept</strong>ember 5 and October 3 for Walk With a Doc. Doctor’s Arif Choudhury and Lory Ghertner will meet you <strong>the</strong>re. Sue Minier, RN and Darcy Davidson, Rn, will take your blood pressure before <strong>the</strong> walk begins, and you will receive a bottle of water to keep you hydrated on <strong>the</strong> walk. Upon return you will receive a nutritious snack and be entered in a drawing to receive a market bag full of vendor-donated fresh fruits and veggies. Ano<strong>the</strong>r way to help our environment is to donate your old eyeglasses to <strong>the</strong> Lioness Club of <strong>Sodus</strong> for recycling. Adult Sunday School will be held at 9:30 am before worship service. Then after <strong>the</strong> Children’s Time in <strong>the</strong> worship service, approximately 11:15 am, <strong>the</strong> children will go upstairs for Sunday School. There will be a class for grades PK to 1; grades 2-5; and grades 6-8. As always, we have a nursery class available for those younger than 4 years old during <strong>the</strong> worship.
