Glad you’re exploring our community!
We know that maybe the word, “church,” may not spark a lot of good Disney-like feelings in
you. Hey, you may even consider church irrelevant, boring, hypocritical and even segregated.
Believe it or not, we agree with you!
NewSong is far from a perfect church. Our common ground is our weakness. Yet, in spite of
our weaknesses we’ve discovered the liberating favor of Jesus who says His grace is made
perfect in our weakness.
So what is NewSong like?
We’re serious about embracing this ideal of reconciliation as it deals with God and
humankind. We’re also passionate about addressing the local and global concerns of justice,
advocacy and the poor. We feel it is our responsibility to help lead a renaissance of
community transformation among the under resourced. Moreover, the arts and beauty are
important to us. Diversity is not just about being politically correct. To us it’s about reflecting
the very heart of God.
While you may not be ready to get involved right away, there are a variety of exciting
possibilities at NewSong for you to meet people just like yourself. Our culture is not about
strong-arming you into a connection with God but about honest conversations concerning our
relationship with God, our community with one another, and our responsibility to humbly
serve the misfits of our world.

Creative Arts Worship Ministry | CAWM
The NSLA CAWM department is an incredible
powerhouse of creativity, love, fun and fellowship! We
are dedicated to showing our love for God through the
arts.
Film Team| film@newsongla.net
this award winning team is the perfect place for all
those interested in Film. This team films each week’s
service as well as working on films throughout the year.
Their two films “Name, Age, Sex” and “Thanksgiving
in
India” have been getting notice all over the World.
There is no experience necessary to join this great team.
They are ready and willing to teach.

Production team is the “brains” of the CAWM
department. This team is responsible for programming
both Sunday services and key events that happen at
Newsong LA. They work closely with the CAWM
director and Pastor Adam in constructing new series
and providing things that help the body grow. This
team has a real heart for the church and for the masses.
If you are passionate about Life and the church, or
just like organizing and excel, then this a great place for
you to fit in.

Creative Arts Worship Ministry | CAWM
The NSLA CAM department is an incredible powerhouse of creativity, love, fun and
fellowship!! We are dedicated to showing our Love for God and each other thru the Arts.
Sound Team| sound@newsongla.net - do you ever feel
like, “I want to turn his/her vocal up” or “gimme some
more bass”!! Well the sound team is perfect for you.
This team runs the sound for our Sunday morning
services. Its also great if you want to work with the
worship team without actually being on the worship
team.
Worship Team | worship@newsongla.net This team is
dedicated to lead the congregation in worship each
week. This is the perfect place to be if you love to play
an instrument or to sing. This team is dedicated to
work with you if you “don’t feel good enough” or
“don’t like being up front”. There is a rotation of
people so if you can only commit one week a month, we
want YOU!!
Lighting Team| lights@newsongla.net “Lights, Camera,
Action”. From Hollywood to the Church, Lights are an
important part of what we do. This team assists in
creating the right atmosphere for worshipping God. If
you are interested in lighting then this is great for you

heart, and the heart of the church. This team serves
each week and transforms an ordinary high school
room into a warm comfortable, high tech worship
facility. This group gets their hands on everything in
the CAWM department (literally). And when they’re
not transforming the sanctuary you might catch them
at a BBQ together or on a hike. This is definitely a
great team to be on and a great way to get plugged into
the church.

Communion - This team facilitates communion for our
Sunday celebrations as well as other special occasions.
this team administers communion as well as making
sure there are enough supplies.

Breakdown Team| breakdown@newsongla.net this
team is also close to the CAWM director’s heart, and
the heart of the church. This team serves each week
and transforms a warm comfortable, high tech worship
facility back into an ordinary high school room. This
group gets their hands on everything in the CAWM
department (literally). And when they’re not

team provides graphics to enhance Newsong LA!! They
provide graphics for Sunday morning services, as well
as working closely with NSLA’s communication team.
They are also committed to training others in using top
of the line graphic art technology. If you have an
interest in art then this is a great place for you to get
involved and share your artistic expression.
Hypocritz| hypocritz@newsongla.net this team is full of
DRAMA!! Good thing it’s NSLA’s drama team!! This
group adds such a dynamic dimension to our services
and even to the community. They do all kinds of
Theatrical masterpieces. From short intense plays to
comedy to miming!! This versatile group is an awesome
place for people in LA to unleash the actor or actress
inside!

Frontline Ministries | frontline@newsongla.net desires
to be the warm and inviting face of Newsong. Do you
remember your first visit to Newsong? Did the parking
signs help you find a space? Did someone greet you and
provide you with an informative bulletin? Did you
happen to ask questions at the Welcome Table or grab a
donut and coffee? Ensuring that the answer to these
questions are “yes”, Frontline Ministries strives to make
our visitors and regulars feel welcomed on a Sunday
morning.

especially those attending Newsong for the first time. Be
an usher and help them find the best available seats in
the house! The Connect Team has branched out, so
serve weekly or once a month and be part of a team who

Orientation Dinner. This introduction to Newsong gives

the life of Newsong if that is something you choose to do.

follower? Feeling a bit clueless for what to do next?
Rhythms is a relational and safe group designed for
brand new Christ-followers and enthusiastic seekers.
Our facilitators will walk through the most
foundational topics of the Christian Faith and will lead
discussions in a fun and thought provoking manner.

First Steps
Discipleship Class “F.I.T” | fit@newsongla.net
The Fit Class is a ten-week spiritual training course, in
which participants explore their current spiritual
condition, and then take the necessary steps to move
towards spiritual maturity.

Newsong LA Prayer Team's responsibility is to gather
people of the church to join together and pray.
Currently there are prayer gatherings each Sunday
where we pray for the church, the city, the nation, and
the world.
NewSong Moms | moms@newsongla.net
Moms Ministry is a place to connect and support one
another, finding and developing friendships through the
joys and challenges of motherhood.
We meet every other Thursday for prayer, lunch and of
course fellowship for both moms and their little ones.

Women’s Walking Group has been walking in Santa
Monica on Saturday mornings since May of 2007. We
meet quarterly for breakfast and outreach projects.
Kate Chung, Grace Edgerly and Michelle Kim co -lead

Justice, Advocacy, and Compassion (J.A.C.) Team |

This ministry team has a heart for those who are unseen
and under resourced. We build partnerships with faith
and justice organizations around the city of Los Angeles
and are currently invested in the communities of
Crenshaw,
Mar Vista, and Inglewood. The J.A.C. team is
committed to motivate, educate, and train NewSong LA
on issues of injustice, oppression, poverty, and racism,
and mobilize the church through service opportunities,
such as cWOW
Sunday (Church without Walls). This is a great space to
learn about God's heart for the poor and marginalized,
while sharing your talents, and spreading the love.
