located at 1892 Hollis Street, NSCAD University, Halifax.
Payment may be made by cheque, cash, Interac, VISA or

Frequently Asked questions
CAN ANyoNE REgISTER IN AN ExTENDED STUDIES CoURSE?
yes. Extended Studies offers courses for all ages. youth courses
are open to artists aged 5 to 18 and adult courses are open
to ages 16 and older. Whether you are new to art or returning
after a long absence, the Extended Studies staff can help you
find the right course to achieve your artistic goals. Read course
descriptions carefully to ensure the course matches your
interests and level of experience.
WHERE CAN I BUy SUPPlIES?
Most Extended Studies adult courses require that students
purchase supplies. A list of required materials for your first
class is outlined in course descriptions or available online. The
NSCAD Art Supply Store is located at 1874 Hollis Street; open
Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 6 pm and Friday and
Saturday from 9 am-5 pm. The store can be reached by phone at
902.494.8176 or via email at store@nscad.ca
Do ExTENDED STUDIES CoURSES CoUNT ToWARDS A
UNIVERSITy DEgREE AT NSCAD?
Currently, Extended Studies courses and certificate programs do
not count toward the University’s credit programs.
WHAT IF I NEED To TRANSFER oR WITHDRAW FRoM A
CoURSE?
Students may transfer from one course to another prior to the
registration/withdraw deadline listed online. A transfer of fees,
minus an administrative charge of $25, will be issued.
Students may withdraw from a course by phone, fax, or mail. A
refund of fees, minus an administrative charge of $25 per course,
will be issued if notification of withdrawal is received before the
registration/withdraw deadline for the specified course.
No refund will be given for withdrawal after the registration/
withdraw deadline. Exceptions are made on compassionate
grounds. In such cases, a written request for refund,
accompanied by appropriate documentation (e.g. medical), must
be submitted to the School of Extended Studies.
