Bringing Boutique to the People
A working man’s guitar amp? Blackheart guitar amps were designed on a beer-stained cocktail napkin. All new models are
prototyped and tested in a one-car garage in Austin, Texas. You can practically taste the hard work that resulted in a family of
amps that deliver classic boutique tone, rugged construction and full-on hot-rod-ability at a blue collar price.
Tube-driven sound is more than desirable. In fact, at Blackheart, we feel that it is vital. Our amps feature an all-tube front and
back end, delivering uncompromised tone — from instantaneous punch to deliciously greasy overdrive. And since we’ve
included a handy wattage switch, you can fully saturate those tubes while keeping the volume to a level that your mom/wife/
landlord will appreciate.
A dedication to quality is evident in the materials and workmanship of each amp. This includes 1W resistors in the signal path
and 16-gauge folded & welded steel chassis. A double sided PCB with 2 oz copper traces provides the hot-rodder with plenty
of space and trace to pull off some amazing mods. Flexible speaker outputs let you hook up to virtually any 4, 8 or 16-ohm
extension cabinet, including the ridiculously robust Blackheart cabinets, which are made of 13-ply void-free birch plywood with a
durable black Tolex covering, ensuring years of use and abuse.
Building an amplifier with uncompromised tone, quality components and top workmanship without bending the customer over
the barrel is our goal. It’s for those who work hard and play even harder. When it comes time to spend your hard-earned cash,

The Eminence Connection
Sure, Blackheart amps sound good. With the warm glow from the tubes that sauce up the all-tube signal path design and
no-expense-spared components… they should. However, none of this would matter at all if there were no speakers to express
our attitude. So for that, we turned to Eminence. Their expertise, commitment to quality and unrelenting attention to detail
matches our own. The result of this collaboration is the Blackheart by Eminence line of Custom speakers, specifically designed to
match Blackheart amps. After all, the touch sensitivity of a hot tube amp needs an equally reactive speaker that will allow you to
express yourself at any volume.
There are three wonderful flavors. The BH1216B is a 12” speaker with British voicing and is used with our closed-back cabinets.
The BH1216A is American voiced speaker made for open-back style cabs and the BH1016B is a 10” British voiced speaker for a
closed back cabinet that is featured in BH110 Killer Cab.
Blackheart’s combos and cabs proudly feature the “Eminence Inside” badge — not to mention the amazing speakers themselves.

The Black Heart of Boutique Amp Design
Blackheart Engineering is young, but has already earned rave reviews for the high quality and attainable prices of its products.
Even more impressive is that Blackheart products are designed like many boutique amps, delivering similar performance for a
fraction of the cost.
“I need my own place where I can work on my own schedule,” says designer Pyotr Belov. “I’m a night owl. Instead of staying up
watching bad infomercials, I build amps.”
“Blackheart Engineering was an idea born on a cocktail napkin at a bar, which is where the greatest ideas come from. But
Blackheart is not just an amp company. Blackheart is about no-nonsense, good-quality, affordable products targeted towards a
guy/gal who works hard for their money and wants something good in return.”
Blackheart amps are unusual in that the company actually promotes and encourages third-party modifications of its products
(check www.blackhearteng.com/mods for details). Belov says that fits perfectly with his garage hot rod outlook; “The idea came
from a car show I was watching on TV. GM used to provide complete blueprints of their designs to aftermarket companies so
car enthusiasts could hot rod their engines. It seemed like a good concept to try with guitar amps.” The result is Blackheart.
