EXTREME PROGRAMMING<br />
Problem solving: team acquires the ability to solve the „impossible<br />
problems faster.<br />
Learning: pair programmers get a chance to learn from each other.<br />
Team building and communic<strong>at</strong>ion: people learn to discuss and<br />
work together. This improves team communic<strong>at</strong>ion and<br />
effectiveness.<br />
Pair programming contributes in three ways:<br />
1. People learn to work together.<br />
2. Learning to work together means th<strong>at</strong> people on the team<br />
will share both problems and solutions more quickly.<br />
Teamwork is enhanced.<br />
3. Raises the communic<strong>at</strong>ion bandwidth and frequency within<br />
the project, increasing overall inform<strong>at</strong>ion flow within the<br />
team. Rot<strong>at</strong>ing partners‟ increases the overall inform<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
flow farther.<br />
Staff and project management: because multiple people have<br />
familiarity with each piece <strong>of</strong> code, pair programming reduces<br />
staff-loss risk.<br />
