Dynea Solutions for
Decorative Laminates

The world leading pilot treater
at your service
To provide a more realistic testing environment for
new resins and applications, Dynea offers customers
the use of its state-of the art “lab-scale” pilot treater.
This unique impregnation unit can handle up to 70cm
wide paper at a typical line speed of 15m per minute.
A wide range of paper qualities and weights can be
impregnated. The treater can be adjusted to simulate
customer’s production processes.
Dynea’s pilot treater is one of the most modern pilot
machines existing and it enables us to provide customers
with a greatly enhanced level of technical service.
Located at our Krems facility in the center of
Europe, we are organized to effectively support the
research and development work going on at our
customers as well as at our own sites around the
globe.
Dynea’s investment in this treater provides the industry
with a tool to design and test process modification
efficiently on a pilot scale.
Customized solutions
for competitive advantage
The core of a high quality laminate is the resin used to
make it. This is true for decorative melamine films as
well as for phenolic films or core stock. As you would
expect, Dynea offers a full range of high quality solutions
for all your decorative laminate applications.
As a customer of Dynea you have access to much more
than the resins themselves. It is not the resin, the additive
system, the saturation parameters or the pressing conditions
alone which define the quality of your final
product. It is the combination and interaction of all these
process ingredients. Our highly experienced and skilled
personnel are able to advise on the most suitable hardeners
and additives, and assist in optimizing the saturating,
drying and pressing parameters. In other words,
we support you in fine-tuning your production lines to
ensure that the requirements for each specific laminate
application are met in full.
Our new pilot treater is an important tool in this respect.
formaldehyde, low free phenol)
• Outstanding penetration properties for a broad
range of papers
• Excellent “runnability” on the impregnation line
• Less urea deposits (from UF resins) in the drying
ovens at high machine speeds
• Resins with good shelf-life and superior consistency
Decorative laminates
• Low pressure lamination (LPL)
- Full range of melamine and urea resins for decorative
films, overlays and backing papers, as well
as a special melamine formaldehyde resin for liquid
overlay application.
• High pressure lamination (HPL)
emphasis on post-forming properties.
• Foils and edge banding
- Urea formaldehyde resins, including low emission
type resins, for foils as well as etherified melamine
resins for monolayer edges.
• Liquid Overlay (LO)
- Resins solutions for laminate flooring technology.
• Pre-impregnates
- UF and UMF resins.
Industrial laminates and overlays
• Phenolic films for surface enhancement of wood
materials (plywood, particleboard, OSB, etc.)
- PF resins suitable for all PSF applications resulting
in stable and resistant surfaces.
Tailored service solutions
• New product development
- Tailored products to suit specific customer
requirements.
• Technical support
- Advice on right choice of resin, hardener and
additive systems for particular applications.
- Process optimization in co-operation with
our customers.
• Environmental monitoring
- Measuring and documenting of impregnation
and lamination processes, as well as emissions
from final products.
• Automated stock control
- Dynea’s partnering concept is not restricted to
product and production process development.
We also offer logistic solutions like remote resin
stock control which ensures that an optimized
