Timing of special refreshing
for CPU Bus Units
I/O memory holding when
changing operating modes
ControlNet cyclic communications, remote I/O for DeviceNet Units, and other special refreshing
for CPU Bus Units is performed at the following times:
I/O refresh period and when the CPU BUS UNIT I/O REFRESH (DLNK(226)) instruction is
executed.
Supported. (Depends on the ON/OFF status of the IOM Hold Bit in the Auxiliary Area.)
I/O memory, however, cannot be held for automatically allocated variables when the operating
mode is changed.
Load OFF function All outputs on Output Units can be turned OFF when the CPU Unit is operating in RUN,
MONITOR, or PROGRAM mode.
Online editing Supported, but the following restrictions apply:
There restrictions in the number of times and the applicable areas for adding and deleting
variables.
Local variables can be added only for automatic allocation of variables.
FB instances cannot be added, deleted, or changed.
I/O variables (VAR_INPUT and VAR_OUTPUT) cannot be added, deleted, or changed.
Global variables cannot be deleted or changed.
Existing variables cannot be deleted or changed (including all properties and names).
Data types cannot be added, deleted, or changed (including increasing, decreasing, and
deleting members from data structures, changing array elements, etc.)
FB I/O groups cannot be added, deleted, or changed.
Note When a FB is edited, the entire FB definition is transferred regardless of the size of the
edit.
Note Power to the PLC cannot be turned OFF during backup operations.
Note All building operation must be completed before online editing can be started.
Timer/Counter PV refresh Binary mode only.

Note BCD mode cannot be used.
Input response time setting Time constants can be set for inputs from Basic I/O Units. The time constant can be
increased to reduce the influence of noise and chattering or it can be decreased to detect
shorter pulses on the inputs.
Startup mode setting Supported.
PROGRAM mode is the default setting.
Flash memory The user program, program information, variable information, and parameter area data (e.g.,
PLC Setup and setting for built-in Ethernet) are always backed up and restored automatically
using flash memory.
