Do you have any advice
on lighting?
Concealed lighting behind a mirror, in bulkheads or in joinery
is a fabulous way of complementing and supplementing
downlights to create different effects and moods. LED has
made concealed lighting so much more practical these days
too, because they’re so long lasting and you don’t have to get in
there and change globes all the time like you used to.
People are really embracing LED lights now. The light quality
has improved so much in recent years and there are so many
great LED options out there.
I always recommend that if you’re planning to have a floor
lamp or table lamps, consider them from the beginning and
have them hardwired so they can be switched on and off from
a wall switch. That way you can install dimmers or incorporate
them into your automated C-Bus system, and not have to walk
around the room turning them all on and off individually.

how about selecting
switches?
We have examples on the Share Design website of a
Clipsal Strato 8000 Series Switch in our Antwerp Classic
space. It also complements a Belgian style beautifully; it
doesn’t scream and shout - it enhances the overall look.
I also like a statement, like a black switch on a white wall
or a stainless steel switch on a bench top.
