Company’s Broad Lineup of Advanced Home Entertainment Solutions --
MAHWAH, New Jersey – January 8, 2007 – Marantz America, renowned for its industry-leading
high-performance home theater audio/video receivers, is reaffirming its commitment to the custom
installation marketplace at CES 2007, demonstrating the latest addition to its home entertainment
receiver family, the high-value, high-quality SR6001 (SRP, $1,199). The company will also showcase
four other recently introduced models geared toward every consumer and custom installation need,
including the SR8001 (SRP: $1,999.99), SR7001 (SRP: $1,399.99), SR5001 (SRP: $749.99), and
SR4001 (SRP: $549.99). In addition, Marantz will also demonstrate its innovative DAvED system
(Model ZR6001SP), an affordable and easy-to-use multi-room audio delivery solution comprised of
the ZR6001 Audio/Video receiver and the ZC4001 Client. (http://daved.marantz.com) The company’s
2-channel SR4021 Stereo Receiver (SRP: $429.99), which offers custom installers a convenient way to
provide customers with a secondary home entertainment zone will also be displayed.
Introducing the SR6001: Ultimate-Quality Features at A More Affordable Price
With its attractive mid-tier pricing, the new Marantz SR6001 makes many of Marantz’ ultimate-quality
A/V receiver features available to more consumers than ever before and boasts a variety of advanced
capabilities geared specifically toward the custom installation market. Like all new Marantz receivers,
the SR6001 features a shallower chassis design (under 16” deep) for easy integration into multicomponent
systems. Most notably, like the company’s flagship SR8001, the SR6001 features HDMI
(V1.2) switching (2 input, 1 output), with upconversion to HDMI with 480i/480p converter, timebased
correction, assignable dual component outputs, and two DC trigger outputs. The SR6001’s
massive Toroidal Transformer provides 100W x7-Ch for authoritative, effortless reproduction of

- 2 -
movie soundtracks and music. And for total flexibility, the SR6001 features a second-zone audio/video
output.
The SR6001 also benefits from Marantz’ advanced calibration technology called MultEQXT from
Audyssey Laboratories that maximizes room acoustics for multiple listeners, creating an optimized
sound field and compensating for speaker and room capabilities to provide a “sweet spot” for every
listener in the room. Other convenience features of many models that will appeal particularly to custom
installers are DC Trigger outputs, IR Flasher input, detachable power cords and lead-free construction.
Dolby Virtual Speaker 2 technology lets users enjoy an immersive surround experience with the
dialogue clarity inherent in a discrete center channel configuration with just two speakers. For
additional home entertainment value, the SR6001, like the SR5001, SR7001 and SR8001, features
XM Satellite Radio functionality. The SR6001 is expected to be available in February 2007.
Compatibility With Today’s Most Advanced Source Components
All Marantz receivers, from traditional home theater surround sound models to advanced multi-zone
distribution devices, are designed to ensure compatibility with today’s most advanced source
components. For enhanced performance capabilities in a variety of home entertainment system
configurations, all new receivers feature HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) switching, as
well as HDMI input/output connectivity. All receivers with the exception of the SR4001 also feature
RS-232 ports. In addition, all feature HD component video switching, component or S-video
upconversion, 32-bit DSP processing and 192kHz/24-bit digital/audio converters for all channels. For
additional flexibility and convenience, all models also feature Dolby Pro Logic IIx capability,
surround-sound headphone processing, front panel menu control and home theater processing (THX or
HTEQ).
Noted Kevin Zarow, Vice President, Marketing and Product Development, Marantz America, Inc:
“One of the things that sets Marantz apart from all other high-end home entertainment manufacturer is
our unswerving commitment to the custom install market. Nowhere is this commitment better
demonstrated than in our expanded line of receivers that provides solutions for a wide range of home
entertainment needs and budgets, from our new mid-priced SR6001 to our flagship SR9600 multi-zone
model and our unique DAvED system, which offers an alternative to high-priced wired multi-zone

distribution. Throughout our line we’ve made leading-edge performance enhancements such as HDMI
switching and upconversion a priority, and all Marantz receivers feature the industry’s most
comprehensive array of advanced connectivity and multi-zone connectivity options. “
performance and convenience capabilities that the new line provides for discriminating home
entertainment enthusiasts, reflecting Marantz’ commitment to provide superior audio and video
performance from all sources. In addition to its HDMI (V1.2) switching, the SR8001 features
upconversion to HDMI with 480i/480p converter, with time-based correction, as well as assignable
dual component outputs, two DC trigger outputs. Both the SR8001 and SR7001 feature four HDMI
inputs, and the SR8001 includes two HDMI outputs as well. The SR8001’s massive Toroidal
Transformer provides 125 watts of power output for authoritative, effortless reproduction of movie
soundtracks and music.
Both the SR8001 and SR7001 receivers feature an advanced calibration technology called
MultEQXT from Audyssey Laboratories that maximizes room acoustics for multiple listeners,
creating an optimized sound field and compensating for speaker and room capabilities to provide a
“sweet spot” for every listener in the room.
Marantz will also be showcasing its high-value 7.1-channel surround sound receiver, Models SR5001,
receiver, the SR5600 provides 2 nd zone audio output capability (individual source), IR Flasher input,
DC trigger output, an RS232 port, and is XM-ready with discrete IR commands.
SR4021: The Custom Friendly Solution
serve as a high-performance stereo solution or secondary zone receiver, the SR4021 offers ample
power, full A/V switching, and a host of other custom installer-friendly features such as direct IR
input, triple IR code sets, four video inouts, and a powerful 80 watt per channel amplifier.
ZR6001 Receiver: Breakthrough In Multi-Zone Audio Transmission
A key component of the new Marantz DAvED system (see separate release), the Marantz ZR6001 is a
high-performance home theater receiver that features 7 channels of discrete amplification, HD
component video switching, component or S-video upconversion, 32-bit DSP processing and
192kHz/24-bit digital/audio converters for all channels. It delivers 90 watts of pure power into each of
its seven main channels. In addition, Marantz’ new DAvED technology means owners of the ZR6001
can not only use their receiver as the centerpiece of their main home entertainment system, but they
can also enjoy virtually wireless audio transmission to any room in the house by just plugging it into
any wall socket and having the audio signals transmitted directly to one or more ZC4001 Clients.
