IEEE Symposium on Computational Intelligence in Biometrics and Identity
Management (IEEE CIBIM 2013)
Biometrics is an emerging technology that has been used to enhance security-related applications such as access control,
identity verification, and information security. In recent years, more and more government agencies and private companies
are turning to biometric technologies to deal with the increasing security issues. Computational intelligence (CI), primarily
based on neural networks (NN), fuzzy systems (FS), evolutionary computation (EC), etc., is a suitable approach for solving
challenging real-world biometric problems. The objective of this symposium is to bring researchers from academia and
industry together to exchange the latest theoretical and experimental results in the field.
CIBIM 2013 is the third IEEE International Workshop/Symposium on Computational Intelligence in Biometrics and Identity
Management. The topics to be covered this year reflect the depth and breadth of the current research effort and range of
applications. The event will provide the attendees a valuable opportunity to meet professional colleagues and old friends on
a personal level as well as to share ideas with associates in academia and industry. We hope every participant will find the
symposium enjoyable and professionally rewarding. Finally, we would like to thank all of those people and organizations
that have worked so hard to organize this symposium and bring us all together.
