Who are the students on the programme? PARIS Located in downtown Paris, ESCP-EAP is a highly recognized Grande Ecole in France. It confers a degree “Grade de Master”, recognized by the French Ministry of Education. LONDON The London campus of ESCP-EAP is located in Hampstead (North London). I teach organizational behavior, leadership and negotiation. My research helps me to enrich student thinking. I aim to offer a different perspective by leading students away from the usual short-term thinking. I try to encourage them to see things from a different perspective and to change their point of view constantly. I want them to see negotiation as a process where everyone should come out a winner. The other fundamental aspect I incorporate into my teaching is my responsability as an educator to link theoretical concepts to the realities of the world. For me, it seems natural to talk about my research in class. In reality the dividing line between theory and practice is thin. I use lots of practical illustrations in my classes so that students understand the theory, and learn to apply it directly and practically. I give a lot of exercises because understanding comes from experience, i.e. "learning by doing". In my research, and in the classroom, I explore the concepts. Though my area of expertise is financial markets, I am currently working on a project in corporate finance and law, a fascinating area.” Cécile KHAROUBI, French Professor of Finance “I hold the view that good research and teaching needs to balance practical relevance with scientific rigor. Teaching students concepts and approaches that do not have a clear and obvious relation to business problems, is of limited value for me. Before joining ESCP-EAP I worked for five years as a strategy consultant and my research deals with many of the questions I faced during this period. The areas I specialised in are Customer Relationship Management (the analysis of customer information to develop appropriate relationships with them) and e-Commerce.
