Circuitry Functions;<br />

The functions described below are for safety purposes and are not meant to function on a regular<br />

basis. These should only active upon failure to charge or discharge the pack properly.<br />

Over-Charge:<br />

The control circuit monitors each cell voltage in the battery pack. If any cell voltage is<br />

greater than 4.35V the internal switch (MOSFET) in the control circuit opens to stop<br />

further charging. This will be reset when the pack is discharged.<br />

The control circuit monitors each cell voltage in the battery pack. If any cell voltage is<br />

less than 2.5V the internal switch (MOSFET) in the control circuit opens to stop further<br />

discharging. Charging the pack will increase the voltage of this cell and reset the<br />

circuitry, allowing discharge again.<br />

If the pack output is shorted (> 50A), the pack circuitry will shutdown the excess current,<br />

by opening the MOSFET switch device in the circuitry. This will reset when a charge is<br />

applied to the pack.<br />

A separate fuse is supplied to as a backup overcurrent limiter. The 30 A fuse protects<br />

the pack from excessive loads or short circuits.<br />

In the event that a cell is over-charged in the pack and its voltage becomes too great, a<br />

circuit will discharge that one cell back to within its correct operating voltage range.<br />

This will help extend the life of the battery pack.
