Kansas/Montana Exchange
Our Interstate Exchange members will be traveling to Kansas this June. To help raise funds for
Plant Land Offers Tour to 4-H Horticulture Members
Amanda Matdies, our horticulture leader, has arranged a tour for all 4-H horticulture members
at Plant Land in Kalispell. The tour is scheduled for Monday, February 16th, at 10:30 am.
Most members do not have school that day so it should work great. We need to have a minimum
of 12 members attend, so if you are interested please call Amanda by February 9th at
212-0520.
Hort Tip of the Month from Amanda: We have a high altitude and
short growing season here in Flathead County. Because of this, I would
recommend buying seed and plants from local reputable companies that
have similar season patterns. If you choose to order seeds from a company outside the valley,
a list of great businesses carrying short season varieties is available in the Extension Office
and Karole or Shelley would be happy to fax or email a copy to you if you can’t stop by to pick
one up. For more options, type short season seed companies in your search engine on the
Internet.
an opportunity to change. There are three age divisions in Youth Speaks and Fashion Fair- Cloverbuds (5-7 years), Junior (8-12
years), and Senior (13-and older). Additionally, in Fashion Fair, platforms may be split into novice and experienced divisions. Photo
