2010 Public Budget Hearing
CALL TO ORDER – President Tim Weadick called the August 25, 2009 Public Budget Hearing to order at 4:00 p.m. with all members
present. Others in attendance included Superintendent Jim Conner, Jane Allen, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Shirley
Meyer, Director of Business Services, Craig Baker, Director of Transportation and Buildings & Grounds, and representatives from
the Middlebury Independent and the Elkhart Truth.
PUBLIC HEARING CONDUCTED – Mr. Weadick conducted a Public Hearing on the 2010 Annual Budget; the 2010 Capital Project Fund
and the 2010-2021 Bus Replacement Plan. There was no public comment.
ADJOURNMENT – Mrs. King moved and Mr. Black seconded a motion to adjourn the Public Budget Hearing at 4:04 p.m. The motion was
approved with a vote of 5-0.
Regular School Board Meeting
CALL TO ORDER – President Tim Weadick called the August 25, 2009 school board meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. with all members
present. Others in attendance included Superintendent Jim Conner, Jane Allen, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Shirley
Meyer, Director of Business Services, Craig Baker, Director of Transportation and Buildings & Grounds, and representatives from
the Middlebury Independent and the Elkhart Truth.
MINUTES APPROVED – Mrs. King moved and Mr. Souder seconded a motion to approve the August 11, 2009 School Board Meeting
Minutes and Executive Session Minutes as presented. The motion was approved with a 5-0 vote.
CLAIMS APPROVED FOR PAYMENT – Mr. Lichtenberger moved and Mr. Black seconded a motion to approve two Claim Lists and a
Distribution list for payment as presented. The motion was approved with a 5-0 vote. See correlated file.
JULY 2009 FINANCIAL STATEMENT – Mr. Lichtenberger moved and Mr. Souder seconded a motion to approve the July 2009 Financial
Statement as presented. The motion was approved with a vote of 5-0.
EXPRESSIONS FROM PATRONS - None
HIPAA EXEMPTION – Mrs. King moved and Mr. Black seconded a motion to approve the HIPAA exemption election for plan year starting
October 2, 2009 as presented. The motion was approved with a vote of 5-0.

FIELD TRIPS – The board reviewed the field trips approved by the Superintendent.
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CORRESPONDENCE –
o Mr. Conner announced the Dedication of the NHS Auditorium and the Grand Piano
will be on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 2:30 p.m.
REQUESTS FOR TRAVEL – The school board reviewed requests for travel approved by the Superintendent.
EXPRESSIONS FROM BOARD MEMBERS – Mr. Souder said he was very impressed with the opening day program and really liked the
guest speaker.
OTHER BUSINESS – None
ADJOURNMENT – Mrs. King moved and Mr. Black seconded a motion to adjourn the August 25, 2009 meeting of the School Board of
Trustees at 4:20 p.m. The motion was unanimously approved, with a vote of 5-0. The next scheduled school board meeting will
be on September 8, 2009 at the Administration Center.
