2010 Public Budget Hearing<br />

CALL TO ORDER – President Tim Weadick called the August 25, 2009 Public Budget Hearing to order <strong>at</strong> 4:00 p.m. with all members<br />

present. Others in <strong>at</strong>tendance included Superintendent Jim Conner, Jane Allen, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Shirley<br />

Meyer, Director of Business Services, Craig Baker, Director of Transport<strong>at</strong>ion and Buildings & Grounds, and represent<strong>at</strong>ives from<br />

the Middlebury Independent and the Elkhart Truth.<br />

PUBLIC HEARING CONDUCTED – Mr. Weadick conducted a Public Hearing on the 2010 Annual Budget; the 2010 Capital Project Fund<br />

and the 2010-2021 Bus Replacement Plan. There was no public comment.<br />

ADJOURNMENT – Mrs. King moved and Mr. Black seconded a motion to adjourn the Public Budget Hearing <strong>at</strong> 4:04 p.m. The motion was<br />

approved with a vote of 5-0.<br />

Regular School Board Meeting<br />

CALL TO ORDER – President Tim Weadick called the August 25, 2009 school board meeting to order <strong>at</strong> 4:05 p.m. with all members<br />

present. Others in <strong>at</strong>tendance included Superintendent Jim Conner, Jane Allen, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Shirley<br />

Meyer, Director of Business Services, Craig Baker, Director of Transport<strong>at</strong>ion and Buildings & Grounds, and represent<strong>at</strong>ives from<br />

the Middlebury Independent and the Elkhart Truth.<br />

MINUTES APPROVED – Mrs. King moved and Mr. Souder seconded a motion to approve the August 11, 2009 School Board Meeting<br />

Minutes and Executive Session Minutes as presented. The motion was approved with a 5-0 vote.<br />

CLAIMS APPROVED FOR PAYMENT – Mr. Lichtenberger moved and Mr. Black seconded a motion to approve two Claim Lists and a<br />

Distribution list for payment as presented. The motion was approved with a 5-0 vote. See correl<strong>at</strong>ed file.<br />

JULY 2009 FINANCIAL STATEMENT – Mr. Lichtenberger moved and Mr. Souder seconded a motion to approve the July 2009 Financial<br />

St<strong>at</strong>ement as presented. The motion was approved with a vote of 5-0.<br />

EXPRESSIONS FROM PATRONS - None<br />

HIPAA EXEMPTION – Mrs. King moved and Mr. Black seconded a motion to approve the HIPAA exemption election for plan year starting<br />

October 2, 2009 as presented. The motion was approved with a vote of 5-0.<br />

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CORRESPONDENCE –<br />

o Mr. Conner announced the Dedic<strong>at</strong>ion of the NHS Auditorium and the Grand Piano<br />

will be on Sunday, September 13, 2009 <strong>at</strong> 2:30 p.m.<br />

REQUESTS FOR TRAVEL – The school board reviewed requests for travel approved by the Superintendent.<br />

EXPRESSIONS FROM BOARD MEMBERS – Mr. Souder said he was very impressed with the opening day program and really liked the<br />

guest speaker.<br />

OTHER BUSINESS – None<br />

ADJOURNMENT – Mrs. King moved and Mr. Black seconded a motion to adjourn the August 25, 2009 meeting of the School Board of<br />

Trustees <strong>at</strong> 4:20 p.m. The motion was unanimously approved, with a vote of 5-0. The next scheduled school board meeting will<br />

be on September 8, 2009 <strong>at</strong> the Administr<strong>at</strong>ion Center.<br />
