president’s message
Dear Friends of Keystone College:
As we rush into a new academic year, we wanted to give you a sense of the excitement on
campus in the middle of our fall semester. From dawn to dusk, the Keystone College campus is
alive with students in the midst of construction of every dimension. From the new mechanical
units lowered to the roof of Hibbard to the cranes delivering roofing materials to Hollinshead
and Tewksbury to the finishing touches on Gardner Hall, the College is thriving and welcoming.
The great distance that Keystone has traveled in only ten years as a baccalaureate institution
is astounding:
■ The Princeton Review named Keystone as one of the nation’s most
environmentally friendly campuses, one of only 278 of the nation’s more than
4,000 colleges and universities.
■ Keystone’s concern for students was noted by US News and World Report’s
America’s Best Colleges in the northern region. We were listed as among the
best colleges and placed in the top five in its category for highest proportion of
classes under 20 students.
■ Locally, a valedictorian and two salutatorians chose Keystone College’s
communications program. They join 26 top freshmen in our Honors Program.
■ For the second consecutive year, Keystone College has been included on a
national list of Military Friendly Schools, ranking among the top 15 percent of
colleges, universities, and trade schools in the nation that are doing the most to
recruit and retain students with military experience.
■ The signs of merchants along Route 6 welcomed back our Keystone College
students.
All of these developments were accomplished with one goal in mind: to provide the best
education and environment possible for our dedicated students who work hard every day to
achieve in the classroom and beyond. Our greatest asset is the people of Keystone who work, live,
and learn here each day. None of this could happen without you—each and every one who is
named and honored in this publication.
Best wishes and thank you for your ongoing support of and belief in Keystone College.
Sincerely,
Dr. Edward G. Boehm, Jr.
