passing score. Over the past several years, the passing score has been between 65%
and 70%. The examination is offered three times a year.
If you have graduated from a program outside of Canada you will need to demonstrate
that your program is of the same standard as programs offered in Canada. Complete
information related to the NDHCB examination is available on the NDHCB website at
report can be prepared and submitted directly by one of the following international
credential assessment services approved by the NDHCB:
accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC) or the
American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation (ADA/CODA). All
other graduates are considered to be non-accredited graduates. For a list of accredited
government agency in the country.
hygiene faculty. On graduation the program must deliver a dental hygiene
! You must prove that your educational institution meets the Canadian Dental
Hygiene Program standard. To do this, submit a report from an external
credentialing agency that has been approved by the NDHCB.
information about the procedures required to have your academic credentials
evaluated.
• The Eligibility Evaluation process can take eight (8) to ten (10) weeks from the time
documentation has been received).
• Graduates of programs that are accredited by the American Dental Association
Commission on Dental Accreditation (ADA/CODA) at the time of their graduation are
eligible to write the NDHCE and do not need to meet the education and
documentation requirements of graduates from non-accredited programs.
their clients, and to the relationship between dental hygienists and other health care
