Welcome to
tube amp heaven
Designed by the acclaimed British tube amp specialist Dave Green,
Hayden guitar amplification leaves no stone unturned in the
pursuit of tone.
From the moment you plug in, a Hayden amplifier
makes its presence felt with a strong and
unmistakable core tone that remains in tact no
matter how hard the amplifier is driven. No endless
tweaking of controls – your new Hayden's going to
sound great straight out of the box.
Drawing on the legendary valve amp designs of the
past, Hayden Classic Series amplifiers add just the
features a modern guitarist needs like valve
switching, pick-up matching and the greater
reliability that comes through refined circuit design,
and leaves out the superfluous gimmicks that often
stand in the way of great tone.
Described by legendary Producer/Engineer Andy
Johns as one of the best guitar amps he’s ever
recorded, the Hayden MoFo amp range now
includes five stunning heads and two combos,
providing guitar players with an enticing palette of
sounds from clean tones to full-throttle overdrive.
And the new Hayden HGT range proves that you
don’t have to be rich to enjoy rich tube tone.
Classic Series
Classic Lead 80
The Classic Lead is Hayden's hard rock amp.
Free of superfluous gimmicks, it gets you
straight to the sound with a performance
reminiscent of '70s British rock moving on to
more aggressive, modern tones.
Rated at 80 Watts, the Classic Lead strikes the perfect balance
between the characteristics of a 100-Watt design - particularly
the low frequency response - and the advantages of a 50-Watt
amp, most notably the ability to drive it harder at gigging
volume levels.
Channels 1 and 2 vary only in their gain structures, 1 being
medium to high gain covering subtle warmth to a huger, 3D
crunch, and 2 taking things further into full, saturated, sustain
without a hint of fizz. Presence, Bass, Middle and Treble
controls are provided for tone shaping but the Classic Lead
won't make you work hard to get a great sound. It's all there,
straight out the box. Presence isn't something you need to dial
in on the Classic lead - it's already going to be right up there
in your face. Dual Master Volume controls keep the levels
matched when switching between channels and the Classic
Lead also includes a true bypass post EQ effects loop.
The Classic Lead isn't just about tone. It's also about response.
Unlike other valve amp designs, the Classic Lead doesn't rely
on negative feedback in the circuit design to deliver a 'pleasing'
sound at the expense of dynamic response. Using customwound
output transformers, the Classic Lead plays with you
rather than against you, tracking your playing extremely
quickly and making you feel connected to the sound.
The Classic Lead 80 Combo delivers its power via a pair of 12"
Eminence Governor Red Coat speakers.
Speakeasy
Like every Hayden, the Speakeasy
puts tone first. However this
exquisite 50-Watt amplifier also
delivers a degree of versatility that
equips it well for the modern stage
or studio.
The Speakeasy is configured in the classic British
style - two channels with two separate signal paths
ahead of a shared tone shaping stage providing
control over Presence, Bass, Middle and Treble.
Channel 1 features a valve driven spring reverb
and a gain range that moves seamlessly from clean
into a light crunch. Considerably more gain is
available from Channel 2 which ranges from
medium crunch to full overdrive, stopping short of
full saturation.
Footswitching between the channels also switches
between two Master Volume controls, allowing
guitarists to balance the volume levels of clean and
overdriven sounds. Footswitch control is also
provided for the reverb and an external FX loop
which is bypassed entirely when switched out for
maximum signal integrity.
The Speakeasy's output stage combines overspecified,
custom wound transformers with pairs
of both EL34 and 6L6 valves. A switch on the front
panel is used to select the EL34's for the warm, fat,
crunchy sounds typical of British valve amps, or
the 6L6s for a more transatlantic tone, while a
second switch can be used to select all four valves
simultaneously.
Like other Hayden amps, the Speakeasy provides
guitarists with the facility to pre-filter the input
stage to match the guitar. Vintage single-coils can
be 'beefed up' or over-aggressive humbuckers
tamed as necessary.
On stage or in the studio, the Speakeasy rewards
the experienced guitarist by responding readily to
every subtle nuance of the performance.
After careful analysis of all the available speakers,
the Speakeasy combo is loaded with a 12"
Eminence Governor Red Coat driver.
Classic Cabinets
A choice of 2 x 12 and 4 x 12 cabinets feature Eminence Governor Red Coat drivers, with 4 Ohms / 16 Ohms
switching in mono, or 2 x 8 Ohms stereo.
Classic Series
Petite 2
As simple as a guitar amp can get. On the tour bus or in the
hotel room, plug into the Petite 2 and you're hard-wired to
the vintage guitar sound that lit the fuse of rock & roll.
The Petite 2 does it like it was in the pioneering days of amplifier design - no
circuit board, not even turret tags, just the finest components, hand wired,
point-to-point. A single ECC83 valve in the preamp stage and a 6V6 in the
output stage serve up the sound of the era when the blues went electric, moving
out of the cotton fields and into the juke joints. Driven hard and wound up all
the way, the Petite 2 punches well above its weight, rewarding the guitarist with
a harmonically rich and full-bodied performance.
The Petite 2 takes a similarly uncomplicated approach to controls with just
Volume and Tone knobs mounted on its rear facing panel, along with a threeposition
gain switch - standard, crunch and overdrive. The Petite 2 delivers its
2-Watt output via a Celestion Greenback 12" speaker.

Listen to Hayden amps at www.haydenamps.com
Petite 5
A 5-Watt single channel valve combo that sounds
glorious with both single coil and humbucker-equipped
guitars. Low power output delivers the rich sound of a
cranked vintage amp at manageable volume levels.
Inspired by the designs of the '60s, the Petite 5 effortlessly pumps out the classic
rock guitar sounds heard on so many memorable records from that decade.
A dual switchable power stage invites the guitarist to choose between an EL84
valve for a gritty, British flavour or a 6V6 for a glassier, more direct, American
tone, while the footswitchable Boost introduces an extra valve gain stage,
pushing the sound further into a raunchy, '70s overdrive.
The Petite 5's beauty is more than skin deep. Components are mounted on gold
turret tags which are hand-wired to create a pure and elegant circuit layout.
The full character of the amplifier is realised by a 12" Celestion G12T V30 - a
speaker renowned for its weighty low end, creamy mid-range and top-end clarity.

Cotton Club Combos
Drawing their inspiration from the groundbreaking
British pop music of the '60s, the Cotton Club combos
build on the available amp technology of the day to
make their signature sounds more accessible in a
variety of recording and live situations. The facility
to switch between Single-Ended, and Push-Pull
modes empower their EL84-driven output stages to
make a full contribution to the sound and response of
the amplifier at manageable volume levels.
Using a footswitch, players are able to switch between a clean channel with
simple Treble, Bass and Volume controls, and a higher gain channel with
Presence, Treble and Bass controls, plus a Gain control ranging from light to
medium crunch. The addition of a Boost on Channel 2 moves the sound
into a more modern era but, overall, the gain structure is kept purposely
low, enabling the guitarist to add pedals for a saturated lead tone without
compromising the dynamic response of the output stage. Channel 2 also
features a Master Volume control for balancing the levels of lead and
rhythm settings. The Voice control is provided to match the pickups to the
amplifier and has the effect of 'thickening' a single coil pickup which is too
thin, or 'thinning' a humbucker which is too thick.
Plug in, start playing and the strong core tone of the Cotton Club combos
immediately makes its presence felt. Clean sounds exhibit a rich, woody
chime while Channel 2 pushes into a smooth and dynamically responsive
overdrive, yielding a satisfying crunch.
The 7/15 kicks out a maximum of 15-Watts via its single 12" Celestion
G12M Greenback speaker and can be cranked up full in the studio when
switched into 7-Watt mode.
Meanwhile the 15/30 delivers a maximum of 30-Watts via a 2 x 12"
Celestion G12M Greenback speaker configuration to achieve the sound
pressure levels necessary to compete with a drummer in a club gig.
MoFo
The MoFo by Hayden is an all-valve guitar amp with a
whole lot of attitude. But unlike other mini guitar amp
heads, the MoFo is definitely not a one trick pony.
From stunning bell like clean tones with real depth to
plexi-esque classic rock crunch, right up to full on metal
mayhem, the 30 watt MoFo head does it all.
With four cascaded gain stages and a footswitchable MoFo mode for even more gain,
the MoFo is packed with tone. And the versatility doesn’t stop with the sounds.
With both 8 and 16 Ohm speaker outputs, the MoFo can drive a wide range of
cabinets from a boutique 1x12 in the studio right up to a 4x12 on the concert stage.
Separate UK and US-voiced instrument inputs shape the signal for classic British
or thinner, higher-gain US tones respectively, and a simple series FX loop allows
you connect your favourite stomp boxes.
And when you’re rehearsing, you’ll love the Stealth switch underneath the amp
which lets your MoFo scream, without the neighbours screaming at you.
MoFo Heads
MOFO 100
The MoFo 100 head is the new all tube 100 Watt flagship
of the Hayden MoFo range. For the player who needs the
ultimate in tone, power and flexibility the MoFo 100 is
the answer.
At the heart of the MoFo 100 you’ll find custom designed output transformers, 4 x
ECC83 preamp tubes and 2 x EL34/2 x 6L6 tubes powering the output section.
Channel 1 delivers a super rich sparkling clean tone with beautiful harmonic
overtones that, when pushed, move into a rich blues tone right up to a hard rocking
crunch. Channel 2 continues with more gain available starting in the crunchy
rock/blues region right up to hard rock tones. The MoFo Boost control can be used
on either channel and can instantly change your clean tone to crunchy and your
rocking rhythm tone into a screaming lead/metal tone – all at the push of a button.
The MoFo 100 features two independent EQs with Bass, Middle, Treble, Presence
and Volume Trim. Each EQ can be used on either channel delivering total flexibility
mid set. Change from a mid heavy classic rock tone to a scooped metal tone all at
the click of a footswitch and much more, the switchable EQs are also very useful
when changing guitars, as they can be tailored to different types of instruments. The
pre-amp can also be altered quickly by one of the three pre amp shape buttons,
changing the overall tone and response of the amplifier from thin to fat at the push
of a button. The MoFo 100 also features a Reverb fitted ahead of the FX out (Series
Loop) and is common to both channels. The MoFo 100 can drive a variety of
cabinets with 2 x 8Ω speaker outputs and 1 x 16Ω speaker outputs.
Whether you play blues, country, classic rock, modern rock, fusion or metal, the
MoFo 100 will give you the tone and power that you need.
MOFO 55 Combo
Sharing facilities with the new MoFo 55 head (see
previous page), the Mofo 55 combo is the perfect
solution for the gigging player requiring a compact,
tone-packed amplifier.
Expanding on from the hugely successful MoFo 30, the MoFo 55 is designed for
the gigging player who needs more. More tonal shaping, more power, more gain
and footswitchable boost on either channel. From spanking cleans through to jaw
shattering overdrive, the MoFo 55 covers all the bases needed by today’s hard
working, hard rocking player.
Both channels have independent Gain and Volume controls and the much loved
MoFo Boost can be applied to either channel, taking clean to crunch and dirty to
downright filthy at the click of a button. The all-new preamp has a set of three
push buttons which can be used in different combinations to affect the amount of
low end frequencies passing through – dramatically changing the character of the
amplifier and perfect for matching the type of guitar being used and the tone
required quickly and with minimal fuss. Channel changing and boost can be
controlled via front panel push buttons or by using the supplied 2-wayfootswitch.
The tonal quality benefits from the passive Treble, Middle, Bass and Presence
controls which are shared by both channels, and FX send and return sockets that
are conveniently located on the front panel. At the heart of this all-tube monster
are 4 x ECC83 preamp tubes and a power section fueled by 2 x 6550 output tubes
and huge custom made transformers. The MoFo 55 combo comes loaded with a
premium Celestion G12K-100 loudspeaker, chosen for its huge power handling
and superb clarity across a wide frequency response.
HGT Series
The Hayden HGT-A20/40 amplifiers bring tone and
flexibility to today’s hard working guitarist. Driven
by 3 x ECC83 tubes in the preamp, the amplifiers
feature 3 channels offering huge flexibility whether
at home, rehearsal or in the studio.
The 20 Watt head and combo employ 2 x EL84 tubes in the power section
while the 40 Watt head and combo use the classic combination of 2 x EL34s.
The dedicated clean channel has an independent EQ (Bass & Treble) and
offers lush crystal clean tones through to a warm, bluesy crunch when
driven hard. Channels 2 and 3 have a shared EQ that features Bass,
Middle and Treble, along with a Contour control for quick and easy fine
tuning of your sound. Channels 2 and 3 both have independent Volume
and Gain controls meaning you can switch from a rhythm to boosted lead
tone simply at the click of a switch. Whether it’s huge British crunch or all
the way to American-styled, fully saturated tones, the HGT-A 20 and 40
heads and combos will not disappoint. Channels can be changed via the
push buttons on the front panel or by using the supplied footswitch.
The HGT-A 20/40 amplifiers also feature digital reverb, an FX loop with
level control and 2 recording out sockets that simulate the tone taken from
a mic in front of a 4x12 cabinet – one leaving the amplifier operational and
one which mutes the amplifier’s power amp section for silent recording.
The heads also feature 2 x 8Ω speaker outputs and 1 x 16Ω output to allow
connection to a wide variety of cabinets.
