SKIERS and SNOWBOARDERS WHAT HAPPENS NEXT... Snowboarders Due to a limited availability of adaptive snowboarding instructors, we are limited to the adaptive lessons we can offer snowboarders. Please contact us at admin@disabilitysnowsport.org.uk if you are snowboarder wishing to attend one of our weeks. Book your place now! All those participating in a DSUK Activity Week MUST be a current member of the charity. Please ensure you tick the correct box on the booking form. If you are not a member or your membership needs renewing we will calculate this and add it to your invoice. What we need from you To confirm your booking please complete the booking form and return to us with your deposit, which is non refundable. Please note that we will not be responsible for any places lost due to non-receipt of booking form and deposit. If you wish to pay the deposit by credit/debit please call us on 01479 861272. 4
Booking Form On receipt of the booking form and deposit, we will send you a confirmation letter to confirm your place and an invoice with full payment details.We will also send you the forms that must be completed and returned to us as early as possible. The information from these forms is imperative to ensure we have the correct equipment for you in resort and any special travel arrangements are booked in advance. Emailed booking forms should be sent to admin@disabilitysnowsport.org.uk Insurance You cannot travel without travel insurance that includes winter sports in the policy.We recommend you secure your travel insurance prior to paying your deposit.A copy of the policy will need to be sent to DSUK in advance. Final Payment Your invoice must be paid by the due date as noted in the brochure and on the invoice. If you are experiencing problems paying by this date you must contact the office and advise us. Final Details We will send you the final itinerary of the trip a few weeks before the departure date. This will advise you who the party leader, other skiers, volunteers and instructors are.The party leader will call you in advance to answer any questions you may have. We will also send you some guidelines about each person's role on the trip which will give you some information about who's who. What you need to think about... Weight restrictions In the interest of Health and Safety DSUK has a weight restriction policy.This is why we ask for your weight on the information form.To implement the policy we ask that anyone who cannot assist the instructors in getting themselves upright when falling over, or who cannot assist in transferring themselves, to call through to the office to discuss this in advance of booking your trip. Care Provision Our Activity Weeks are available to everyone with a disability. If you need personal care in your everyday life, you are required to bring a carer with you on the trip. DSUK volunteers cannot provide personal care.They come to share their love of snowsports and the outdoors they are not carers. If it becomes apparent that the information you have given is misleading and care is needed we reserve the right to employ specialised care in resort with all costs being paid by you. We will refuse travel if information you have given us is misleading. 5
