In the year of Nineteen
Hundred and Ninety Two,
the college stood nestled
between the German and
Belguim
Embassies off of
Foxhall Road. It was in that
year that Doctor LucyAnn
Geiselman came to the aide
of Mount Vernon in the
spirit
of Florence
Nightingale.
In those restless days, she
came with the spirit of
integrity, enthusiasm, love,
and hope that was needed
for the College
to shine. Her
passionate love for
challenges and spunky
nature won her hearts from
the Mount Vernon family.
So much so, she was
inaugurated on September
18th, 1992 as Mount Vernon's
8th president. On her special
day, an overwhelming spirit
of pure happiness and love
was shared by everyone
including a passionate letter
from her daughter.
In the words of e.e.
cummings which express
that day and all the days of
LucyAnn's presidency:

Dr. LucyAnn Geiselman,

Mount Vernon alive for us,
and in gratitude for her
personal interest in students,
the Phoenix of 1993 is
lovingly dedicated to Doctor

On this campus, there is a ^roup of young, ded
icated and energetic

women who are devoted to

thusiasm into productive, effective Republican
political work.
The members of this club were active in the
BUSH/QUALYE '92 campaign, and will be an
unstoppable force in the 1996 Presidential cam
paign. They were also called upon for support by
several other political candidates during the
1992 election year, and to make a name for
themselves throughout the D.C. Metro Area.
The College Republicans although,
work and no play. During and after the cam
paign season, the members enjoyed a variety of
social events from a Presidential party and peprally
to meeting other college republicans at
C.R. parties located throughout the D.C. area in
all the D.C. colleges and universities. This is a
club which knows how to make its voice heard
while having fun in the process.
