Business Activities
Constructora Subacuática Diavaz, S.A. de C.V. started its operations in 1973. It is a company
specialized in the markets of:
• IMR pipeline services
• Infrastructure for offshore operations
• Diving services
• Construction, maintenance and modernization of platform services
• Geotechnical studies
• Various specialized services
Its base of operation is in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche. They are pioneers in Integral IMR projects,
and a forerunner in the application of new technologies for connecting of wet Christmas trees for
subsea wells. Diavaz is a trusted supplier for PEP with the accreditation No. 0518/2006 since 2006. It
is a leader in the Mexican market of geophysical and geotechnical studies having carried out more
than 700 together with Fugro Chance de Mexico. They are also a leader in the Commercial Diving
Industry in Mexico.
Complementary Notes:
They are particularly interested in Improved Oil Recovery (IOR): They recommend
taking action during the second quarter of 2010. Pemex is implementing some of the IOR
techniques in its mainland fields. However there is a need for implementing these IOR techniques
in the form of an integral service for the mature fields offshore. Diavaz proposes to develop (with
Pemex) key areas the scope of work for the “Integral Services for IOR techniques in Offshore
Mature Fields”. The scope of work to be discussed and agreed with Pemex should include the
majority or all of the activities listed in the “INTSOK’s capabilities in IOR” brochure.
5
Deepwater Developments: They recommend taking action during the second half of 2010.
Deepwater in Mexico is still a virgin territory. Through their partnership with Fugro, they have
started working on the exploration of some of the deepwater developments, but in the reality, the
installation of the first subsea module or flow line will not take place until (probably) 2011-2012.
They want to start exploring the market in order to look for strategic alliances with a deepwater
construction company, so they can participate together in the development of the first fields.
Assets Integrity Management: They recommend taking action in the second quarter of 2010.
Initially, the goal is to establish contact with companies that are experienced in RBI/RBM and also
in the development of Asset’s Maintenance/Integrity Systems to train their body of engineers in
these fields, under BSI and ISO standards.
Construction support vessels: They recommend taking action in the second quarter of 2010.
Diavaz charters all of the construction vessels that are needed for its projects. They have a solid
reputation with vessel owners such as: DeepOcean Subsea Services, SeaLion Shipping and
ADAMS Offshore among others.
This company is one of the most important companies in off-shore activities in
Mexico. For Norwegian companies thinking of developing large projects it could be
important to be in dialogue with them.
