UNDY FUN DAY 2013
One of the Villager Photography Club’s
summer assignments was to capture the
Magor and Undy communities having fun at
the Undy Fun Day, organised by Tesco to raise
funds for Diabetes UK, their chosen charity for
this year.
A staggering £30,000 was raised – brilliant,
but as we can see from these photos not
surprising given the number of teams that
made an effort to take part and the spectators
that turned out in support.
It really was ‘fun in the sun’ this year and the
weather tempted out a huge crowd of around a
thousand to enjoy the knockout competition,
music, fun fair and stalls.
Julian W Needs, Bob Russell and Roy Tucker
from the club caught all the fun of the day as
you can see from the images here against the
backdrop of a blue sky and bright sunshine.
The pictures are stunning and really do
capture the colour and vibrancy of the event.
Have they caught you on camera?
News from the Villager Photography Club is
that we have now moved our base to the
fabulous new Redwick Village Hall after having
outgrown our initial home at Magor Marsh.
Many thanks to Gwent Wildlife Trust for
providing us with such a good base upon which
to establish ourselves. Our move is by no
means the end of our relationship.
Redwick Village Hall provides us more space to
accommodate our growing membership. The
small group that gathered to start the club at
the beginning of the year has nearly doubled.
The depth and breadth of our photographic
knowledge has increased dramatically thanks
to the willingness of new members to share
their expertise with the whole group.
The club has loads of interesting features lined
up for members including talks from
professionals on many different aspects of
photography. Each session we aim to learn
something about the cameras we are using so
we can get more from our time using them.
We are also planning an event early in 2014 to
showcase our work to the local communities so
look out for this, we will advertise the details
locally once we have finalised the details.
If you are interested in joining us please get in
touch with Bob at bob.russell@live.uk We meet
the first Thursday of each month in Redwick
Village Hall.
