The Cure - Cure Our Kids

“It was a great way for people from
different parts of the company
to get to know each other,” Anne
says. “One of the great things that
came out of this was that as well as
spreading awareness about Cure
Our Kids, it also sent the message
that as a team, we can achieve
amazing things together.”
The Cisco Kids team raised a very impressive
$20,010 for Cure Our Kids, helping us top our
goal. Thanks guys!
The Cannocks’ Story
On the first of January this year, young
Levi Cannock was diagnosed with acute
lymphoblastic leukaemia. Only two and
half years old at the time, Levi showed
a tremendous amount of courage as he
endured 29 arduous days in hospital. Since
this time he has continued to bravely face
chemotherapy, while his parents, Nathan
and Kylie, have dedicated every spare
minute to raising support for the Cure Our
Kids City2Surf team.
The family raised an impressive $4,756 from
friends and family as well as the broader
community. Kylie’s mother, Sue, held a
cake stall at her work, which raised over a
thousand dollars. Nathan, who works as a
sales representative, even put the word out
to customers, many of whom got behind
him with a donation.
When the event day finally arrived Nathan
gave his all and combated the steep and
winding route in an impressive 92 minutes!
But Nathan and Kylie’s greatest reward
is still to come – at the end of this month,
just three days before Levi’s third birthday,
their son will have his central line removed
marking the end of intravenous chemo.
To thank friends and family for their support
and to give them greater insight into the
importance of their donation, Nathan and
Kylie have given all their sponsors a specially
made DVD with footage of Levi’s journey
with cancer.
