The tenants’ panel administer a community
improvement budget of £40,000 each year. This
budget funds improvements to areas where you
live.
Anyone can apply for a grant of up to £5,000. This
can be for a range of improvements.
Improvements made during 2011/12 were
installation of CCTV, improvements to patio areas
on sheltered schemes, storage for bicycles at
some of our flats and a number of sponsorships
where our residents would benefit.
In 2010 we carried out a survey of all
our residents and 89% were satisfied
overall with the services they received
from us.
We will be carrying out another survey during
2012 and we will publicise the results in our

year’s annual report.
MWS will pay reasonable expenses for residents
who get involved. These include child care, travel
and transport and contributions towards IT. Also,
MWS have a range of training they can offer
involved tenants including NVQs.
MWS tenants’ panel hold 2 events a year with
the aim of getting residents’ views of services we
offer and to encourage people to get involved.
During 2011 a summer family event was held
in Dulverton and Christmas events were held at
our 2 extra care schemes, Ingrams Meadow, in
Watchet and Silvermead in Alcombe, Minehead.
