by rotation nom<strong>in</strong>ated by the Director with approval from the Vice<br />

Chancellor.<br />

ii) FIPs will also need to co‐ord<strong>in</strong>ate the preventive aspects of ragg<strong>in</strong>g, under<br />

guidance of the Director/Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal/Head of the college of the University<br />

aim<strong>in</strong>g to create a ‘ragg<strong>in</strong>g free environment’<br />

iii) FIPs will be responsible for tak<strong>in</strong>g steps to ensure that cases of ‘ragg<strong>in</strong>g’<br />

with<strong>in</strong> their college are brought to the notice of the Registrar, while<br />

simultaneously <strong>in</strong>form<strong>in</strong>g the Director of the Institute, who <strong>in</strong> turn will<br />

ensure that the <strong>in</strong>formation is given to the Vice Chancellor.<br />

iv) FIPs will be empowered to deal with <strong>in</strong>formal compla<strong>in</strong>ts of ‘ragg<strong>in</strong>g’<br />

and/or take suo‐moto cognizance of any of such an <strong>in</strong>cident.<br />

v) In case of ragg<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Hostels the student shall have the option of either<br />

compla<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g to the FIP of the concerned college or the Registrar and also<br />

the Hostel warden.<br />

(B) <strong>Ragg<strong>in</strong>g</strong> Report<strong>in</strong>g Procedure<br />

i) If any <strong>in</strong>dividual believes that he or she has been subjected to ‘ragg<strong>in</strong>g’ or<br />

has knowledge of any such <strong>in</strong>cident, shall have the option to file a<br />

compla<strong>in</strong>t with the Registrar or nom<strong>in</strong>ated FIP at the college. This may be<br />

done <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g or orally. However, written compla<strong>in</strong>t is preferable.<br />

ii) FIPs or member/s of the ‘Enquiry Committee’ will also be available to<br />

discuss any concerns exhibited by any student or a group of students,<br />

about ragg<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

iii) All formal/Informal compla<strong>in</strong>ts of ‘ragg<strong>in</strong>g’ may be made to the FIP with<strong>in</strong><br />

the college or directly to Registrar as stated above.<br />

iv) Immediately, the police shall be <strong>in</strong>formed and FIR lodged aga<strong>in</strong>st the<br />

person <strong>in</strong>volved. The Registrar of the university shall be the sole authority<br />

to file the FIR with the due approval of the Vice Chancellor. The Vice<br />

Chancellor office will update the Chancellor office for all cases of ragg<strong>in</strong>g<br />

where FIR has been filed.<br />

(C) Enquiry Committee (EC)<br />

Committee, as <strong>in</strong> Para IV A above (of which one will be a female member) will<br />

<strong>in</strong>vestigate all reported cases of ragg<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>in</strong> such a way, so as to ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><br />

confidentiality to the extent pr<strong>ac</strong>ticable under the circumstances. All cases<br />

related to ragg<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>volv<strong>in</strong>g students of a particular college only, shall be<br />

<strong>in</strong>vestigated by the college level committee. In case students of different
