About <strong>the</strong> <strong>PECO</strong><br />

<strong>Energizing</strong> <strong>Education</strong><br />

<strong>Program</strong><br />

Launched in 2009, <strong>the</strong> <strong>PECO</strong> <strong>Energizing</strong><br />

<strong>Education</strong> <strong>Program</strong> has grown and adapted<br />

based on teacher and student feedback. “We<br />

decided to continue <strong>the</strong> program based on <strong>the</strong><br />

success we saw,” said Jeff Gordon, manager<br />

of Corporate Relations. “We received great<br />

feedback <strong>from</strong> <strong>the</strong> teachers and students. With<br />

<strong>the</strong> increased school participation, we hope to<br />

do additional evaluation that will guide us in our<br />

efforts to develop an outstanding energy and<br />

environmental education program for <strong>the</strong> entire<br />

<strong>PECO</strong> community.” Five schools took part in <strong>the</strong><br />

program in 2009, and that number doubled in<br />

2010. In 2011, 14 schools participated, proving<br />

even fur<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> success of <strong>the</strong> program. <strong>PECO</strong><br />

provides opportunities for current and past<br />

participants to continue <strong>the</strong>ir involvement. A<br />

total of 1,668 students are participating this year.<br />

<strong>PECO</strong> is currently looking<br />

for schools to participate<br />

during <strong>the</strong> 2011-<strong>2012</strong><br />
