 HVACR Endowed Tool Scholarship: Awards are based on scholastic achievement and
need. A 2.00-3.00 GPA is required and recipients must remain in the HVACR program.
Award amount and other eligibility requirements vary.
 Builders Exchange Scholarship: The scholarship shall be awarded to a full-time
undergraduate student majoring in CTMG and/or HVACR. The recipient must have a
minimum 3.00 GPA.
 Stanley J. Dean Memorial Scholarship: Applicant must be a full-time junior level (56-85
credit hours earned) student with a cumulative 3.00 GPA or better. Demonstrate leadership
abilities and potential to make a significant contribution to their chosen profession.
 Mechanical Service Contractors Association Scholarship: Awards are based on
scholastic achievement, active membership in the student chapter of MSCA, and the desire
to work in an organized HVACR industry. Award recipients are selected by the HVACR

 Scott D. Anderson Memorial Scholarship: Must be a full-time student with 24 credit
hours completed and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.
 PHCC Need Based Scholarship: Scholarships are available to students demonstrating
financial need and enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or
university in a plumbing-heating-cooling related profession. Students must provide a
personal statement, a letter of recommendation from a PHCC member, a copy of both high
school and post secondary transcripts, along with a personal letter of recommendation.
 PHCC Scholarship: This scholarship is available to students who are enrolled as a full-time
student at an accredited four-year college or university in a plumbing-heating-cooling
related profession. Students must provide a personal statement, a letter of recommendation
from a PHCC member, a copy of both high school and post secondary transcripts, along
with a personal letter of recommendation.
 Michigan Air Conditioning Contractors Association of America Scholarship: Award is
based on merit and academic excellence. A recipient will be chosen by the HVACR

 West Michigan Air & Waste Management Association Scholarship: Must be a
WMAWMA chapter member. Must be a full-time junior/senior enrolled at an accredited
college or university in Michigan with a 3.00 GPA. Students must provide a 500-600 word
personal essay, along with an academic transcript and a resume. A letter of recommendation
from a professor or advisor is also required.
 Delta Scholarship: This scholarship is available to students who are enrolled as a full-time
student at an accredited four-year college or university in a plumbing-heating-cooling
related profession. Students must provide a personal statement, a letter of recommendation
from a PHCC member, a copy of both high school and post secondary transcripts, along
with a personal letter of recommendation.
 Bradford White Scholarship: This scholarship is available to students who are enrolled as
a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university in a plumbing-heatingcooling
related profession. Students must provide a personal statement, a letter of
recommendation from a PHCC member, a copy of both high school and post secondary
transcripts, along with a personal letter of recommendation.
 A.O. Smith Water Heaters Scholarship: This scholarship is available to students who are
enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university in a plumbingheating-cooling
related profession. Students must provide a personal statement, a letter of
recommendation from a PHCC member, a copy of both high school and post secondary
transcripts, along with a personal letter of recommendation.
 American Standard Scholarship: This scholarship is available to students who are
enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university in a plumbingheating-cooling
related profession. Students must provide a personal statement, a letter of
recommendation from a PHCC member, a copy of both high school and post secondary
transcripts, along with a personal letter of recommendation.
 Kamstra Endowed Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to a sophomore junior or
senior with high scholastic achievement. Preference is given to a student from Western
Michigan. A recipient will be chosen by the HVACR department. For further information

 J. N. Nelson Family Foundation Scholarship: A candidate for this scholarship must be a
full-time junior or senior student in good academic standing and enrolled in the HVACR
engineering technology program at FSU. A recipient will be selected by the HVACR

 Association of Energy Engineers Scholarship: Awards are given to outstanding full-time
students who attend fully accredited schools and take energy related courses. Student must
provide a 50-100 word personal essay along with a letter of recommendation from a faculty
member or advisor and an official transcript.
 Robert Fordeck Memorial Scholarship: Students need a sealed transcript from the
accredited university you are attending, an essay on where the industry is going in the next
five years and how you, with a completed degree will help make this vision come true. One
letter one recommendation from each of the following sources will be required: your
university advisor, a refrigeration industry veteran of 10+ year’s experience, and a personal
reference of your choice. Students must also have a 2.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale and proof of
current enrollment in classes at the university.
 Transfer Academic Excellence Scholarship: Student must have a minimum cumulative
GPA of 3.70. Student must have at least 24 accepted transfer credit hours. Scholarship is
renewable for a second year if student maintains a 3.50 cumulative GPA or higher. Student
must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate, degree-granting program on the main
campus (Big Rapids) only. Automatic consideration upon admission - no application

 Transfer Academic Achievement Scholarship: Student must have a minimum cumulative
GPA of 3.30. Student must have at least 24 accepted transfer credit hours. Scholarship is
renewable for a second year providing the student maintains a 3.25 cumulative GPA or
higher. Student must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate, degree-granting program on
the main campus (Big Rapids) only. Automatic consideration upon admission - no

 Non-Resident Transfer Scholarship: Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of
3.30. Student must have at least 24 accepted transfer credit hours. Student must be a nonresident.
Scholarship is renewable for a second year if the student maintains a 3.25
cumulative GPA or higher. Student must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate, degreegranting
program on the main campus (Big Rapids) only. Automatic consideration upon

 International Transfer Scholarship: Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of
3.30. Student must have at least 24 accepted transfer credit hours. Scholarship is renewable

enrolled full-time in an undergraduate, degree-granting program on the main campus (Big

 Transfer Residential Life Scholarship: Candidates must hold an associate degree and a
minimum 3.00 GPA. Must be a full-time student, enrolled in a baccalaureate degree
program at Ferris State University, and live in a residence hall on the Big Rapids Campus.
Recipients must not attend another institution of higher education after receipt of the
associate degree. Preference will be given to students enrolled in a Michigan community
college. Scholarship is renewable for a second year if student maintains a 3.00 cumulative

 ARI Scholarship: Eligible students are those who attend or plan to attend an HVACR
training program. The student must be a U.S. citizen, national or resident alien and
demonstrate educational potential. Two letters of recommendation are required along with a
150-200 word personal statement.
 Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: The community college from which the student transfers
must have a chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. The student is required to provide a letter of
recommendation from the Phi Theta Kappa advisor or a copy of the membership certificate.
Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50. Student must have at least 24
accepted transfer credit hours. Scholarship is renewable for a second year if student
maintains a 3.25 cumulative GPA or higher. Student must be enrolled full-time in an
undergraduate, degree-granting program on the main campus (Big Rapids) only. For further

 Bel-Aire HVACR Technology Annual Scholarship: Awarded to a full time student
majoring in the HVACR T3echonology program. GPA is NOT a determining criteria.
Preference shall be given to eligible students who demonstrate financial need as determined

 West Michigan Plumbers, Fitters and Service Trades – Local Union No.174 JATC
Annual Scholarship: The scholarship shall be awarded to a full-time sophomore student
majoring in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology. The
recipient shall have a minimum 2.0 GPA at the time of application. The recipient shall be a
resident within the West Michigan Plumbers, Fitters and Service Trades – Local Union No.
174 JATC jurisdiction counties of Kent, Lake, Manistee, Mason, Mecosta, Montcalm,
Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola, Ottowa, and Ionia (except the townships of Portland
and Danby). recipient shall be a member in good standing of the Greater Michigan
Mechanical Service Contractors of America Student Chapter at Ferris State University.
