<strong>HVACR</strong> <strong>Scholarships</strong><br />

<strong>HVACR</strong> Endowed Tool Scholarship: Awards are based on scholastic achievement and<br />
need. A 2.00-3.00 GPA is required and recipients must remain in the <strong>HVACR</strong> program.<br />
Award amount and other eligibility requirements vary.<br />
Builders Exchange Scholarship: The scholarship shall be awarded to a full-time<br />
undergraduate student majoring in CTMG and/or <strong>HVACR</strong>. The recipient must have a<br />
minimum 3.00 GPA.<br />
Stanley J. Dean Memorial Scholarship: Applicant must be a full-time junior level (56-85<br />
credit hours earned) student with a cumulative 3.00 GPA or better. Demonstrate leadership<br />
abilities and potential to make a significant contribution to their chosen profession.<br />
Mechanical Service Contractors Association Scholarship: Awards are based on<br />
scholastic achievement, active membership in the student chapter of MSCA, and the desire<br />
to work in an organized <strong>HVACR</strong> industry. Award recipients are selected by the <strong>HVACR</strong><br />

Scott D. Anderson Memorial Scholarship: Must be a full-time student with 24 credit<br />
hours completed and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.<br />
PHCC Need Based Scholarship: <strong>Scholarships</strong> are available to students demonstrating<br />
financial need and enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or<br />
university in a plumbing-heating-cooling related profession. Students must provide a<br />
personal statement, a letter of recommendation from a PHCC member, a copy of both high<br />
school and post secondary transcripts, along with a personal letter of recommendation.<br />

student at an accredited four-year college or university in a plumbing-heating-cooling<br />
related profession. Students must provide a personal statement, a letter of recommendation<br />
from a PHCC member, a copy of both high school and post secondary transcripts, along<br />
with a personal letter of recommendation.<br />
Michigan Air Conditioning Contractors Association of America Scholarship: Award is<br />

West Michigan Air & Waste Management Association Scholarship: Must be a<br />
WMAWMA chapter member. Must be a full-time junior/senior enrolled at an accredited<br />
college or university in Michigan with a 3.00 GPA. Students must provide a 500-600 word<br />
personal essay, along with an academic transcript and a resume. A letter of recommendation<br />
from a professor or advisor is also required.<br />
Delta Scholarship: This scholarship is available to students who are enrolled as a full-time<br />
student at an accredited four-year college or university in a plumbing-heating-cooling<br />
related profession. Students must provide a personal statement, a letter of recommendation<br />
from a PHCC member, a copy of both high school and post secondary transcripts, along<br />
with a personal letter of recommendation.<br />
Bradford White Scholarship: This scholarship is available to students who are enrolled as<br />
a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university in a plumbing-heatingcooling<br />
related profession. Students must provide a personal statement, a letter of<br />
recommendation from a PHCC member, a copy of both high school and post secondary<br />
transcripts, along with a personal letter of recommendation.<br />
A.O. Smith Water Heaters Scholarship: This scholarship is available to students who are<br />
enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university in a plumbingheating-cooling<br />
related profession. Students must provide a personal statement, a letter of<br />
recommendation from a PHCC member, a copy of both high school and post secondary<br />
transcripts, along with a personal letter of recommendation.<br />
American Standard Scholarship: This scholarship is available to students who are<br />
enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university in a plumbingheating-cooling<br />
related profession. Students must provide a personal statement, a letter of<br />
recommendation from a PHCC member, a copy of both high school and post secondary<br />
transcripts, along with a personal letter of recommendation.<br />
Kamstra Endowed Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to a sophomore junior or<br />
senior with high scholastic achievement. Preference is given to a student from Western<br />
Michigan. A recipient will be chosen by the <strong>HVACR</strong> department. For further information<br />

J. N. Nelson Family Foundation Scholarship: A candidate for this scholarship must be a<br />
full-time junior or senior student in good academic standing and enrolled in the <strong>HVACR</strong><br />
engineering technology program at FSU. A recipient will be selected by the <strong>HVACR</strong><br />

Association of Energy Engineers Scholarship: Awards are given to outstanding full-time<br />
students who attend fully accredited schools and take energy related courses. Student must<br />
provide a 50-100 word personal essay along with a letter of recommendation from a faculty<br />
member or advisor and an official transcript.<br />
Robert Fordeck Memorial Scholarship: Students need a sealed transcript from the<br />
accredited university you are attending, an essay on where the industry is going in the next<br />
five years and how you, with a completed degree will help make this vision come true. One<br />
letter one recommendation from each of the following sources will be required: your<br />
university advisor, a refrigeration industry veteran of 10+ year’s experience, and a personal<br />
reference of your choice. Students must also have a 2.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale and proof of<br />
current enrollment in classes at the university.<br />
Transfer Academic Excellence Scholarship: Student must have a minimum cumulative<br />
GPA of 3.70. Student must have at least 24 accepted transfer credit hours. Scholarship is<br />
renewable for a second year if student maintains a 3.50 cumulative GPA or higher. Student<br />
must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate, degree-granting program on the main<br />
campus (Big Rapids) only. Automatic consideration upon admission - no application<br />

Non-Resident Transfer Scholarship: Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of<br />
3.30. Student must have at least 24 accepted transfer credit hours. Student must be a nonresident.<br />
Scholarship is renewable for a second year if the student maintains a 3.25<br />
cumulative GPA or higher. Student must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate, degreegranting<br />
program on the main campus (Big Rapids) only. Automatic consideration upon<br />

International Transfer Scholarship: Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of<br />
3.30. Student must have at least 24 accepted transfer credit hours. Scholarship is renewable<br />

enrolled full-time in an undergraduate, degree-granting program on the main campus (Big<br />

Transfer Residential Life Scholarship: Candidates must hold an associate degree and a<br />
minimum 3.00 GPA. Must be a full-time student, enrolled in a baccalaureate degree<br />
program at <strong>Ferris</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong>, and live in a residence hall on the Big Rapids Campus.<br />
Recipients must not attend another institution of higher education after receipt of the<br />
associate degree. Preference will be given to students enrolled in a Michigan community<br />
college. Scholarship is renewable for a second year if student maintains a 3.00 cumulative<br />

ARI Scholarship: Eligible students are those who attend or plan to attend an <strong>HVACR</strong><br />
training program. The student must be a U.S. citizen, national or resident alien and<br />
demonstrate educational potential. Two letters of recommendation are required along with a<br />
150-200 word personal statement.<br />
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: The community college from which the student transfers<br />
must have a chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. The student is required to provide a letter of<br />
recommendation from the Phi Theta Kappa advisor or a copy of the membership certificate.<br />
Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50. Student must have at least 24<br />
accepted transfer credit hours. Scholarship is renewable for a second year if student<br />
maintains a 3.25 cumulative GPA or higher. Student must be enrolled full-time in an<br />
undergraduate, degree-granting program on the main campus (Big Rapids) only. For further<br />

Bel-Aire <strong>HVACR</strong> Technology Annual Scholarship: Awarded to a full time student<br />
majoring in the <strong>HVACR</strong> T3echonology program. GPA is NOT a determining criteria.<br />
Preference shall be given to eligible students who demonstrate financial need as determined<br />

West Michigan Plumbers, Fitters and Service Trades – Local Union No.174 JATC<br />
Annual Scholarship: The scholarship shall be awarded to a full-time sophomore student<br />
majoring in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology. The<br />
recipient shall have a minimum 2.0 GPA at the time of application. The recipient shall be a<br />
resident within the West Michigan Plumbers, Fitters and Service Trades – Local Union No.<br />
174 JATC jurisdiction counties of Kent, Lake, Manistee, Mason, Mecosta, Montcalm,<br />
Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola, Ottowa, and Ionia (except the townships of Portland<br />
and Danby). recipient shall be a member in good standing of the Greater Michigan<br />
Mechanical Service Contractors of America Student Chapter at <strong>Ferris</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong>.
